Content Additions Map Extensions

Given that new fangled Survey mentions a vague New Map/Extensions…
I think it’s worth to mention, that there seems still a lot that could be fleshed out, revamped or extended and I am sure many before have stated as much or commented on the potential that is there… and has to some degree done with mods here and there. I added some quick notes to a map, but since I have not piped up in all these years I can’t upload the image, will add when I can. In short however…

Pictish Wilds - them Picts are missing all together, but should be rather easy to add I would think. let it be a continuation of marshes and woodlands in the NE undeveloped part, there is still plenty of room without interfering with dungeons etc., make it less swamp and jungle but more temperate and make some use of those great trees from Siptah. Extend some cold marshes and taiga snowy forest and add a nice big ‘thunder’ river flowing west to east. Let this vast area be teeming with wild beasts and savage tribes, make use of no-build zones to keep the wilderness feel intact. Add a Pictish stronghold maybe something extending into or located in a cave system/hollow world type - take some inspiration from the 13th Warrior movie. The Picts could introduce a new type of totemic/shamanistic magic or perhaps something like witchcraft.

Eastern Seas - a continuation of shorelines and extending the green border away from the islands, make those islands inhabited by mythical creatures or pirates. Mini dungeons/caves/grottoes that sort of stuff. Add some fish/sea life even if just deco (though sharks would be cool). Underwater ruins? Maybe add some Barachan style buildings and add some Khitan or more Lemurian stuff. How about an Asian flair island a pirate haven or a bit more of Yamatai influence. Add some Fishmen/Cultist invasions, some remnants of Lemuria or add some Amazon (Warrior Women) stronghold. Or how about a static (ship) route that after accomplishing some quest to open up travel (loading screen transition) to and from Siptah? That alone would give more life to both EL and IoS.

What about Kushites or Black Kingdoms in general, there is a nice spot k-m 3-2 that could be a Savannah extension with a Black Kingdom stronghold.

The South-Western corner A-C 2-3 would be perfect for some hidden valley/blasted land centered around a black tower as an EL equivalent to the Siptah tower which could be swarming with Undead or some other eldritch power, maybe Xotli Cultists? This accursed place could perhaps be the only spot where to get Eldarium in the EL.

Last but not least C-E 16-15 could be a nice spot to situate another hidden valley with a continuation of the Norse theme, an Aesir stronghold, some Giant allies perhaps spawning Vanir or Ymirish invasions. How about a ‘Hall of the Mountain King’ sort of dungeon (Ice Wyrms)

Other ideas would be to build out Sepermeru, allow for random thralls to be ‘bought’ or ‘hired’ add a little palace for Razma or some exiled Stygian (or Ophirian) prince, add a real temple to Set. Allow for treasure pieces loot to be sold to Relic Hunter faction, perhaps even add a trap infested dungeon inspired by Alibaba and the 40 Thieves, filled with real and ‘illusionary’ treasure (cursed/corrupted or simply fake - go poof and give a debuff or spawn nasty surprises - snakes, scorpions, spiders etc. - upon picking up)

How about expanding Muriela’s Hope get that statue a bit more built, now with more worshippers and under random (maybe once every 2 or 3 hours) attack by Setites.

What about Dragon mouth and the Hidden Way - both should have some content other than beign a way into the Volcano. Add a Dragon Lair with big and small dragons or maybe some Cultists led by a mini boss - hidden way could feature a salamander boss or even have a haunted/accursed sorcery tower (cultists, undead etc.)

The Altar of Chaosmouth could at least have some cultists, maybe a boss sorcerer (the voice of Nyarlathotep or some such).

Build out the Ward Towers, seems like a wasted opportunity, maybe just a mini boss in each of them?

There is also still potential in and around the Unnamed City - there is a cave entrance at the western walls that suggests a passage (currently blocked) there could be a cavern-like mini dungeon passage to hidden chambers - full of Treasure Seekers and other dangers.

Just a few things I always felt were still more than enough potential to extend the Exiled Lands, there are enough corners even without extending the map that could potentially be revamped and allow for additional content.

I would like an expanded map, but I did not vote for it in the survey because they combined it with a new map, and I definitely did not want to give them any impression that I wanted them wasting time on a new map.

I think the new map/expansion is listed but I think it would take a massive demand for new map for it to happen. Expanded to a degree is more likely but I think even that won’t be as much “expansion” as people think.

Wholeheartedly agree, there is absolutely no need for a new map and investing resources into such would be a waste.

I was already skeptic with Siptah especially since there is nothing connecting it to and from the Exiled Lands and as such seems another wasted opportunity.

I know enlarging the EL play-map so to speak is a pipe dream and probably unrealistic or otherwise not feasible, but there is still enough room to work with above and let’s not forget below (caves, caverns, underground passages, underworld/hollow world).

Aside from bug fixes and QoL that’s where I would wish they also focus on and I would easily shell out for instead of another armor or pet skin from the Bazaar.
