Corrupted Wolves too OP

Ok… I know it’s been said before, but I’ll say it again. These guys are waaaay to OP. Normally it’s not an issue, but when Funcom nerfs thralls, yet these things still exist, I shouldn’t have to come back after a day or two offline and find dead thralls in my event log because I happen to have a few wolf spawns nearby. All it takes is for one person to farm wolves and get a random spawn, then kite them into my base. Seems pretty ridiculous.

I think the game needs more dangerous things. The world is like 99% easy peasy and 1% watch out!

We need more danger so we feel a slight apprehension every time we leave the security of our bases.

In the mean time, post stronger guards.

I like that. Maybe 3 different tiers for each beast/monster that doesn’t show in the UI. It’s just a wolf but there are 3 different versions of the wolf and you just gotta F around to find out.

I was thinking more like the hazards that were planned, but never implemented. Sandbeasts in the storm, bat demons dropping down on you from the sky, and roving bands of Thoth Amon’s soldiers.

Build away from wolf spawns, or train better thralls. Corrupted Wolves pose just the right amount of danger for the areas they appear in.

This 100%

It was a berserker, admittedly not leveled very high, but pretty good gear on it. Never had this issue prior to the nerf. Kind of annoying. I suppose I should have put a level 20 there, but still… I’d rather not potentially lose a level 20. I’m trying to lessen my thrall footprint on PlayStation. The lag and bugs are bad enough. They only get worse the more you have.

I used the eccentric exiles (I think that was the name) mod, which increased the boss spawns and added random -but sameish type of enemies (sadly there were “alpha” creatures, which looked like elite animals, but were WAY weaker than the regular mobs… and the mod discontinued anyway) just because as mentioned above, wildlife is pretty easy to deal with.

Plus I hate striped hyenas: they are easier to kill than regular ones, yet they give 2.5X more XP.

I guess you’ve been lucky, then. Corrupted wolves were eating thralls well before the rebalance, too. Decent levels, good armor and most importantly - the player helping with the fight - were needed to keep the thrall alive.

Like Kapoteeni said, the Berserker had little chance prior to the thrall adjustments against the wolf unsupported.

I remember coming across three of these things on Isle of Siptah one time… that was a big nope lol. But there’s not a lot of big nopes in the game.

This is the reason why people don’t want PvE players participate in PvP discussions.

If they die to an easy peasy corrupted wolf…

I don’t think it’s necessary to try to turn this thread into a PvE vs. PvP discussion. Corrupted wolves are completely irrelevant to your perceived superiority.

Was your thrall passed out drunk in your yard?

Did the wolf pick the locks on your door/gate?

When living near heck hounds, it’s a good idea to not leave people you want to see alive again outside.
This one is reminded of a similar situation, where a person new to the valley left their Chihuahua out on their property and it was eaten by a Mountain Lion. They were the only person surprised by this result.

The lesson here isn’t so much the power of the enemy, as the need to provide post concussion care for new employees.
That said, it is tragic to see how much being raised by a human, rather than the evil miasma of the Exiled Lands, stunts to potential of puppies.

Nope. It’s a fancy outpost and I have no doors on it. It’s meant to be a pretty spot for people to look at, but also has an open fast travel for PvE purposes. The thrall was actually meant to guard and I had two stationed there. One died. Apparently two wasn’t enough. Fortunately, she wasn’t really one I cared much about. I may just send a couple more that way. Odd thing was, it’s on a side of the building where there isn’t normally wolves. So, obviously someone ran by. I know thralls usually only take damage if someone is present. Sooo… courtesy would have been to probably help them fight it. :expressionless:

When one thralls get hit, others will rush over.

Or I assume it was just roaming… and happen get around the location.

Sounds more like, evil wolf doesnt need to be changed… just thralls. XD (aka not be so darn squishy Or when not being lead by a human.)

Yeah, one or the other imo. Thralls after the nerf have made offline defenses more difficult.

I’m a PVP player and I like corrupted wolves. If you want to make this about PVPers vs PVEer’s it was PVEer’s complaining about thralls being adjusted because they couldn’t afk kill world bosses. Not PVPers.

I highly recommend you sit back down and leave PVP vs PVE alone. You won’t like it.

Seems to work really well against Corrupted Wolves.

What I really would love is a sorcery way to corrupt followers so that we get those skins.

For me the most important thing (besides having a lvl 20 thrall or 4 :stuck_out_tongue: ) is making sure your thralls have a mace in hand. The faster you kill that Corrupted Wolf, the less damage he’ll inflict; and the mace is the only weapon I’ve seen that allows any thrall to string together combos and not glitch out!

The Corrupted Wolves make farming the forests around the Mounds of the Dead extra exciting! Two of them spawning beside each-other is even more fun haha

That is one of the problems of a peaceful society (PvE) people can be quite rude.

Seems like you were maintaining a public location and someone in the public damaged it. That is unfortunate.
The options are either more and more militarized guards… or for everyone to hide on roofs unless it’s wartime.
Either way, unfortunate.

I mean, I guess I would agree they are.

I remember when I first encountered one, it was the first time I had ventured in to a particular area in the north, past the mounds towards the Islet lake. Tried to take it on, then it actually hit me, and I was outta there :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I swear to Crom it felt like it chased me right across the highlands.

It was not an encounter I forgot, and it was a while until I ventured back that way (properly prepared this time, heh)

All that being said, I kinda liked the nasty surprise of it, and if given a choice, I’d keep it unaffected.

Gotta say though having someone kite one into your base, does indeed make me wince.
