Try going to your Content / Paks folder… Sorting the files there by date and deleting the 5 oldest pak files then do a verify game files on steam
Thanks Xevyr however this is a completely fresh install all pak files are dated today
Hmm… Do you have any DLCs? maybe they didn’t download properly or something. Also have you actually tried what the message suggests and verify the files?
Did the file verify and steam reported it i clean.
Seems there are (5) extra pak files being added since this update 3.0 as the total should be 198 Pak files. The crash is reporting that it’s counting 203 Pak files which is a mismatch (should be 198 )hence the crash.
Now if the developers can fix the pak file mismatch we are gtg
Hmm… I don’t know if this helps you in any way (Probably not?)
But here’s a compact screenshot of all the files in my Paks folder (I have 177 total each one having a corresponding sig file) and I have all the DLCs previously released as a reference If you want to “verify files” by eye and play with them see if you can spot any in your installation that don’t belong…
(I really don’t have much info on this particular error, I would wager thou it has to do with DLCs, maybe you somehow got the files to a “secret” new DLC that shouldn’t be there lol jk.)
Much appreciate this!
I deleted all the pak file and did another verify/download to restore the paks hoping for a correct result.
If that doesn’t work I will audit the files using your screenshot.
Cheers!
I was trying to avoid that as it’s literally the bulk of the game 82 gigs in that one folder so you’re gonna have to wait a while till it all re-downloads
In any case hopefully that’ll solve it Good luck!
Got it working by doing the following:
