I have been trying to join a server, but the entire game crashes and the client shuts down. I have all the mods that is needed downloaded, I’ve tried using other servers but the same thing happens. The game shuts down. I’m not a gamer, so I don’t know what all the technical terms are. Things I have already tried:
:restarting the game
:unsubscribing and resubscribing the mods
:deleting Conan Exiles from both steam and my computer, using the computer paths.
:Deleting the mod folder and redownloading
:turning off the nameplates
:changing from full screened to windowed
Yes, I can play by myself just fine. but I don’t think it’s as fun as playing with other people, and I bought the game so I could play with friends. The friends in question have no problem connecting to the server.
Have you checked that the load order of mods on your client exactly matches the load order of the server? It does not sound as if that would give the errors you are getting, but it is important.
Sounds like you are misunderstanding the auto mod downloader functionality. If enabled, the game will restart to set your load order of the mods to match the server. This is intended, you just need to wait for the action to complete.
I’ve gotten a bit further! now I’m just freezing and getting an authentication failure. Though, I think that may be more on my end. I’m not quite sure how to fix it though. D:
okay! so, I’ve gotten further. now it gets to the loading page, and then goes straight back to the main page. Then when I try to connect again I get “server authentication failed”
