Okay, so there’s a lot of conflicting (old) information out there. I’m on a private server (PC/PvP/Exiles) and we’d like to try Siptah.
From what I understand, at one time the ability existed to move our characters to Siptah (either installed on same server, or a new server). But it seems that transfers are disabled with no time estimate on the fix. Is that correct?
If that’s the case, does that turn Siptah into a completely separate game with new characters and no ability to move back and forth between them?
Does Siptah have the longevity that the Exiles map has? Or do people tend to go back to Exiles after a bit?
Thanks for any thoughts and current info here.
Kinda. Think of it like what it actually is, an expansion in the old sense. Kind of like in MW4’s expansion you fight against the original main character rather than as him.
Personally I would say around the same. Neither has the longevity of other popular maps though.
If you play on some private servers (or run your own server cluster) there is Amunet Transfer mod to travel back and forth between any maps. Different servers with any maps can be linked together into common “network” with portals between them. No transfer without Amunet’s mod for today. Speaking of maps I prefer Isle of Siptah, because I don’t like deserts. There are many things to do in the IoS (enough places to explore, Vaults to go for loot etc.) and there are enough good landscapes with perfect views for your base. I like this extension and I’m glad to have it.
Yup, we use Amunet’s and love it. U have to be a bit tech savvy to set it up tho. My wife set ours up and said after she understood how it worked, it was easy, but she’s a software programmer by trade ssooooo…"easy"is relative. But we love it. Wanna pop over to Tir-na-nog? Done. Wanna go run vaults on Siptah? Go for it. Wanna go dinosaur hunting on Sapphire? Head on over. I would suggest giving it a try
For those intimidated by the webserver, I made a guide in the amunets discord for how to set it up using freeware. I received feedback from several amateurs who said the guide got them where they needed to go with relative ease.
That’s awesome! The free service didn’t work so well for us, it kept dropping the connections. But we decided to buy the lowest paid subscription (I think it was $10 USD a month) and it’s ran flawlessly
Well, honestly I’m not even sure if that’s the ones we use. That’s a question for me wife lol
That’s the beauty of xampp; you host the server yourself so if there are dropouts, its on your internet anyway which would drop your game or the server anyway. I had some old dell micropcs kicking around so I just set it up on one of those so its completely in my control like my dedi.
Probably an issue with the way you have the ip addresses set up. You’ll want to go to the AST discord where you can show them your AST files. It could be as simple as you have the local ips instead of the public ones. The ips are what are used for player login and they are outside your network.
I figured out the issue and the server transfer is working. I was using my local Within Conan to make the link also I removed the http with my IP address when I was making the link within Conan and it worked
