That is because the pen% on bow is bugged. It was not planned to be OP. Big difference. Cannot use data that uses a bugged component to determine if what Funcom wanted was accomplished. I will say, i have been experimenting with different weapons and heavy. The first time i feel i have a counter punchers chance now. before, it was get the hammer and spam r1 against NPCâs and groups of players. But now, shield and 1h may be viable with practice.

I have only one thing to say strictly personal ⊠I do not have fun anymore!!! After 5259 hours of Conan Exiles and 8 DLC, I can not have fun anymore ⊠the character is agonizingly slow, everything about his movement is heavy, itâs horrible!
So here, I stop playing, and Iâm praying here from France that Santa Claus will come from the north and will offer me as a gift a good backtracking that I can play the game I love, and that gave me so much of happiness!

Thatâs exactly it. We are not having fun anymore. Find other ways to prevent players from running away. But not this. This sucks.
Make throwing axe do tripple cripple. Make them weigh 90% less. Make them cheap to make. Give them auto aim so players canât zig zag. Make it so that when you are crippled you cannot do ninja dodge rollâŠ

I canât add up the same amount of hours, I think Iâm at about 1000. Iâve bought all the DLCs though. Fully agree with you here.
Itâs just really sad that the devs are destroying the game like this. And before anybody tells me theyâre not destroying anything, Iâm gonna tell you why I think you can call it âdestroyingâ.

If somebody has spend that much time on the game, heâs not gonna leave easily. But he does and so do others. One of you guys (I canât find the post rn) said that the people who complain are just noobs. Would you consider him with 5259 hours a noob? Would you consider flyhacks a noob because he said âthis game is trashâ? Would you consider thereaperofchess and trulyoneshot (two of the best PS4 PvPers ) noobs because they dislike the new combat?
Just some of my thoughts on this.
Honestly my vote in the poll isnât accurate but itâs the closest to my view. Itâs too pitiful, but the idea was good, basically you had a good idea but went too far with the reduction and ended up nerfing it, the old system as overpowered as it was itâs much better than this near useless dodge. Just needs to be met in the middle is all not a return to the original, just an unnerfing and making it an actually useful maneuver. Mind you only locusts are able to hit me when I dodge no matter what that couldnât with the original, however just because Iâm good enough with timing to make it work doesnât make it good, just not completely useless, the only reason Iâm good at it is because I didnât discover the agility dodge perk until a few months ago and always use heavy armor and got good at that horrendous dodge.
Of course, our two countries are brothers! He can not go into one without the other!

Sword of Crom, Life blood spear, Act of Violence, Doom Hammer, CLAWS the first time, Sonic spear roll, etc. This argument is invalid. The bow is more than likely a bug, and will hopefully be hot fixed. Point is, PVP will always try to find the meta, but that comes down to constant balancing if the meta completely OPâs other things.
small update on my experience with this new system:
gotten use to it, still donât like it in its current form - needs to be improved/added to it to help bolster playstyle diversity
what the heck does nimbler tumbler do? does it even work as intended?
dodging rolling distance is shorter now, higher risk of still being hit, also raises the chance of counter attacking depending on armor type/agility points/choice of weapon
depending on weapon type and opponents strikes, direction of roll/dodge matters more than ever (sans crappy server ping getting in the way)
aside from the rise of the naked bow warriors. weapon diversity is slowly happening seeing people actually trying out maces due to the increase amount of hyper armor, same with katanas, and new bleed effectiveness of daggers. one or two weapon types will always be king due to damage output and ease of use which ever those will be, but the once in a while (surprise, your fighting a javelin and shield guy) is a welcoming change.
previous thoughts have changed alittle:
7, fighting certain bosses dodging is a pipe dream due to their attack range and speed. forced to either fight with a group or fight using different tactics/armor/ weapons vs. close combat (not a critique but on observation)
claws: cut attack distance by half after third attack, and 75 percent on last attack, increase stamina cost to compensate speed and stamina of weapon.
dodge roll/movement: if not increase walk to run rev time for light armor users, then give light armor uses their distance back when they roll, one or the other
Claws have been used in PvP since theyâre in the game. Bow will still be OP when the arrows are back at their normal pen. People can still get their free hits when youâre dodging / trying to run.
Iâve also seen them before the update.
If you mean the old dodge, no, it was broken and it was stupid, now it make sense. Poke and roll was a bad mechanic, now rolling is not meant for disengage that easily.
They just need adjustments, and they will adjust those eventually. To be honest, the meta always suck, but is really difficult to balance⊠even if the meta were the 1h swords some people would by crying about itâŠ
Such a hardcore attitude, totally edgy⊠i bet they will come back later.
I feel like itâs harder too run away from fights. Yes it sucks when the big guys hunt down the little guys. But Iâm loving itâs harder for people too run away. As it is thereâs no real counter too killing people running, placing a bomb, running away. With this change itâs so much easier too kill those people (Pvp Player) Meta is changing. Adapt and Learn.

I created an account to vote, and say my opinion as an experienced solo PvP player.
After hours of PvP testing in single player:
Although i do not hate the roll, i dont think it works at all with the pvp in Conan exiles, mostly because the differences in clan numbers. But also, it has taken a fun, fast system that took skill, and slowed it down, and in my opinion made it boring and too slow paced.
As a solo player, ive almost always been outnumbered in pvp situations, and i became a skilled player because of it. I think this change has completely taken the skill away, and ruined the fun of conan pvp. Now more than ever numbers matter much more than skill.
I think that a skilled solo player or a skilled small clan of 2-3 players should be just as dangerous and as much of a risk as a larger, less skilled clan, after all, these larger clans can farm a lot more resources a lot faster, while smaller numbers who cannot farm as fast, can have the skill to even out the odds, even while outnumbered the smaller numbers could win. To me, this was much more fair for everybody and more balanced.
In conan you rarely have a chance for a 1v1 fight, most times you will be outnumbered and this change makes it almost impossible to handle yourself in those situations. I think this change would more than likely only favour the largest clans who can outnumber everybody else. Small clans and solo players need to still be able to deal with larger clans, especially if they are toxic.
I also think the changes to try stop people disengaging from fights is only going to hurt pvp even more, while i do find it annoying when my opponents run away, i also think that this should always be an option for players, whether they are outclassed, outnumbered, outskilled, not high enough level, different attribute builds, or any other reason, they should always be able to run away if they want to, this is only fair. If players want to run away there is almost always a fair reason for it. Skilled players run away too, sometimes its the only smart option. During longer fights quite often more players will come along to help out opponents and you should not be forced to fight them if running is a smarter move.
Last thing i want to talk about is the horrible nerfing of weapons. There will ALWAYS be a âmetaâ and instead of nerfing the weapons over and over again, i think the other weapons should be made more powerful instead, so if the weapon perfectly fits a players playstyle, and they dont want to stop using it, they dont have to. While other players might find more success in the newly updated weapons, and the new one might fit their playstyle better. I think this is a much better way to find balance and maybe reduce how many players follow the âmetaâ
I believe the best meta was before the nerf of the pike/2h spear, because the spear was a good starting point for most players, easy to use and a solid reliable weapon, but also took skill to be really good with it. At this point 2h hammers were strong enough to counter a 2h spear, (and also much more preferred by me, and some other players) nobody ever thought the hammer was too powerful when pike was meta, and i think the best way to have gone about this âmetaâ was to strengthen the 2h sword (2h weapons having that longer range) and making it more viable against a pike user. The 2h hammer was perfect how it was.
After this update, 2h hammers are ruined, way too slow, boring and basically useless now.
Daggers are also completely ruined, not having that hyper armor makes them useless in pvp fights, its already hard to use daggers in pvp, everybody knew they did NOT want to get hit much by daggers in a pvp fight.
I think these nerfs should be reverted, as well as the dodge and movement changes.
Improve other weapons, dont ruin the weapons people love to use.
For the first time since free release on ps4, i cannot see myself enjoying this game any longer because of the changes of this update. I will be resetting decay timers on some servers for a little while, incase the changes are reverted, but i cannot see the fun in this game anymore in its current state.
Just terrible. I am happy to have a dodge change but this is not it. Funcom hit a miss with this one.
Itâs unresponsive. Itâs slow. It looks silly. And you are getting your butt handed to you while your char rolley poleyâs around and canât get up quick enough.
Agility? not good enough. Still means nothing and we have to lose points in other areas to do this and still get nowhere. Agility needs work to make it more meaningful, dodge needs serious tweaking.
While we are all here, survival could use an overhaul too*
