Dune: Awakening... Is great!

I like that idea, and it’s sort of like FO76 where you have a base radius.

For CE that ‘console’ could be a home-stone of sorts (could be a menhir/standing stone or a great oak or elm or a bronze statue or some totem pole or idol sort of thing) and it could even be something that could be upgraded or tiers of base radius that could be extended, so you start with a small T1 base radius for a small beginner base and then upgrade to a T4 large radius base to built your castle or fortress.

My old recommendation was land claim flags. 1 to start, 1 every 10 levels. You can set them all together to make a huge build or multiple small builds. But people that want to pave over the server hate the idea.

While playing earlier today I stumble on a base which had 3 ToC violations, not wasting my time, not exploiting a system to actually get it to work.

But off topic. Even though I wish Conan had a few aspects of the dune building.

since this conversation is not going to stop here, has anyone tried and experienced how “great” PVP is in Dune awakening?

And you can actually add tonyour claim area vertically or horizontally for a cost. Which then invreases your tax. The 2 tier upkeep is actually smart. The fuel maxes out at 21 days, butvthebtaxes happen weekly. Now i uavent seen what happens if you dont pay the tax, but i would think your base becomes abandoned.

It still has interesting stuff now and then but you have to sift through a lot of AI crap.

The video probably sums up current deficits in the game quite well:

A Bulgarian gaming mate of mine, with whom I have played Conan Exiles in the past and is in my clans on official servers, nevertheless expressed her enthusiasm to me. He already has a good impression of Dune: Awakening and enjoys it, even the PvP. Is probably something different from PvP on ConEx in terms of dimension and apparently also a bit more tactical. I can’t judge that myself.

But basically you’re right, Hansel: We, who haven’t given up on ConEx yet maybe, should finally let this thread creep out and die - this is NOT a Dune forum.

I admit that I’m really tempted to buy Dune, but I will stick to my original principle. What is emphasized again and again in the gaming scene, but is rarely adhered to in my opinion, is the potential fact that it is up to us gamers as customers in the possible power to help shape the development of the gaming industry through our purchasing behavior. This is also one of the reasons why I haven’t bought games from EA or Blizzard for a long time out of pure conviction - simply because I don’t want to support the purchasing policy of such companies and corporations with my money. Whether you as an individual will ultimately tear something up with it remains to be seen and I don’t want to compare Funcom with EA yet. I have not given up on Funcom and hope that the company will keep its promise of January 15, 2025.

I’m done with the topic now and will stay here in the future with topics around Conan Exiles, its community and everything that has to do with the original work of Howard’s Cimmerian barbarian.
