What exactly is the problem with using the same weapon for 5000 hours if we want to?
Why would you want to force people to use other weapons?
Would it not be better that we use the weapon that we personally prefer? xD. i really don’t understand the logic behind it.
Let me be the one who decides what weapon i have fun with, thank you very much.
I defended nothing. I merely said I would give it time, and there are other ways to increase stamina.
However, you use a spear. I do not. I do not like them, because I have never liked the attacks. I use a sword 1 on 1 or a mace in a crowd. I have not found my fighting style compromised to the point I cannot kill anything. But, and I may be in the minority, I don’t think I’ve ever used a full combo with any weapon. I usually hit twice heavy, and use a mix of heavy and quick strike light attacks.
I enjoy a good fight with a player who has a heavy weapon. I have always managed my stamina in combat, so, as I said, I will give it time, experiment, and adapt as necessary.
Hence the revamping of the game. The game has certainly gotten a lot easier here and there, so revising from the core-engine up is well overdue.
With the ‘hugeness’ of the overall game and all the varied instances of weapons, armours, creatures, dungeons, (let alone mods), Updates must be a mega-challenge as there is so much to try to keep track of to keep the balance - just takes one foundation-level item being skipped out of an update and that ol’ snowball starts a-rolling.
Once the core game engine is rebalanced (yes, am certain some stuiff will be missed), then let’s see.
The durability is fine. again, 3600 attacks with blade of the adventurer (75d24%). even bb tools have very high dur. Plus, modding yhem no ponger reduces the dur. It makes then special instead of meta now
I do agree, I haven’t seen anything wrong with “old” durability that made you care for your equipment and maintain it, instead of treating it as something disposable (I had my base’s wall decorated with all manners of weapons and tools that I no longer used). In all honesty, I don’t even know if I’ll bother to use dyes or transmog on my equipment, what’s the point if all if equipment would be only temporal. Adding the RNG for legendary equipment and this stuff turns from annoying to frustrating.
After playing around with it on testlive, I have to agree to some point.
I think the durability on all items degrade is just too much… I get it for the legendary stuff, but stuff you can craft should be 100% fixable at the table atleast.
This will cause a massive hoard of resources especially on siptah, eldarium is hard to get in the first place.
I know I don’t want to keep remaking my gear and re-applying the Illuision everytime, or making a new edlarium hatchet from everytime I have to go out and resource farm for an hour or two.
I like the durability change and the stamina change. The durability change makes weapons more valuable, and your decision on how to use them more meaningful. Having the weapons forever with no chance of loss other than death devalues the weapon.
The stamina change rewards the careful fighter. And penalizes the person who spam attacks. The damage increase makes up for the lack of stamina and the negates the need to have to hit somebody threw an entire complete rotation.
I think the opposite is true, back in the days before Legendary repair kits where readily available I never bothered with legendary weapons or black blood tools because I had no way to repair them so I would throw them in a box or give them to a thrall. Seems those days are about to return and the game is so easy now the buffs to legendary weapons are pointless anyway.
Another problem is for those that have a particular preference for a weapon type, take the Katana for instance only has Musashi’s Black Blade out of the 42 possible items in the legendary chests, that has a 2% drop chance. Even with the increase in durability I could break that weapon in a few hours so them not being repairable make them less valuable and not something I would actively grind for.
That’s not a problem for me. But as I mention in another thread, the devs want to create a game where we experiment with different playstyles and adapt and keep farming. Having the same weapon for 5000 hours removes the excitement of finding a new cool weapon, or excitement from getting the same weapon that you like so much from the drop. I think, they just want create more reasons for us to say “Yay! Finally” when we play the game. And, personally, I am fine with that
I have used all weapon types in the game and not all weapons are made equal, some are better than others just from having a better move set. I absolutely hate slow weapons so I stay away from all two handed weapons apart from Katana’s. One handed axe is arguably the best weapon in the game because you combos are less likely to get interrupted, it can hit multiple enemy’s, can be used on horseback and has a knock down at the end of combo making it in my opinion one of the most versatile weapons in the game. There will be no excitement in getting a legendary axe I can use for a couple of hours before it breaks and nothing is going o convince me to use a slow two handed hammer. As soon as this update hits mark my words the most popular new mod will be the one that reverses the durability changes.
I know your post is not supposed to be taken seriously but if I get even a whiff that they are planning on doing something like that I would drop this game in a instant and warn all others to stay well away and from future games.
imp, the durabikity + dmg increase of legendaries is good. This makes a legendary more like a timed buff, and less a way of life. I am level 25 and was able to kill a boss croc with Bal Ptars Razor. And guess what, with thay key i got a legendary shield. 15000 durability. So now to try mace and shield out
It really seems more like an annoyance.
Repair kits are not hard to come by, so it’ll be yet another thing we’ll need to haul with us. Which is just sad.
It basically gives rid of our freedom of fun for the sake of “Use other weapons or suffer” type mentality quite stupid, I am never a fan of changing specs of my class on my characters in World of Warcraft, why should my character in Conan, suffer same fate?
