I’m curious though how the community feels about ganking lowbies though? Does that make you a jerk, or is that fair play on a PvP zone or anywhere in openfield ?
Do people really get pleasure out of ganking lowbies ??

Anyone who doesn’t enjoy a balanced pvp fight is a noob
Can’t remember the last time i saw a lowbie on a pvpserver.
I would consider a pvp level 1 in blue gear a lowbie as well.
Ganking such a lowbie, without provocation, I’d consider inappropriate. This doesnt benefit anyone long term.
I find ganking low level players bad, it doesn’t add anything to the game, it’s just “fun” for the high level player in terms of enjoying trolling.
On a PvP server years ago I tried playing but I got ganked by some level 80 ranger in wild lands who followed me in hide fot hours just to nuke me down. Sure, asking for help is a possibility but the answer I got in global was like “lol git gud” and without friends on a new server you can’t really do anything against it.
If people say ganking low level players for no reason other than to annoy them these people are probably also the ones who go AFK in minigames and say they are playing the game while doing nothing but spamming trash in their group chat and global.
Some time ago, when I was on Fury the motto the guild I was in was “if it’s red, then it’s dead” but also ganking was fairly common, been killed talking to quest givers, waylaid by much higher players and focused on mini games by high PvP levels I can’t really say what fury is like now, but this behavior is one reason the PvP server dies imo.
When the servers had decent population, I would consider it to be normal under pvp ruleset.
I myself was ganked literally hundreds of times in the old ~2010 days on Fury as a lowbie, and it was a fun part of the game.
In some cases, I was able to track down the killer with some other random lowbie players and kill the ganker. And jump on their corpse repeatedly
I liked the sense of a constant danger present on the server.
Nowadays, however, I think any new or low-lvl player should be treated with utmost care and respect.
There are a few hundreds left of us anyway. This does not concern Fury that much, since 1-80 is literally non-existent.
However, the culture of veteran players both on Fury and Crom during mini-games and pvp events could be better.
If someone is s***-talking a new player in a group who only has blue gear or just getting T1, or starts a drama if an obvious noob performs poorly, you are doing all of us a huge disfavor - these people will just quit the game.
If you look for a nice and fair community, Age of Conan is sadly the wrong game. Way too many frustrated people on Crom spamming global every day with trash abouth politics, pvp trashtalking, blaming the game, blaming Funcom, blaming new player without exp. and gear, blaming raid finder, insulting other players and so on…
This game needs rules and an admin who will kick out all the F2P troublemakers out there.
Used to be fine when lowbies could actually outskill someone higher level than them. Back in the first year of AoC you could beat a max level while being 20 levels below solo and if you had a group you could probably do it even lower.
Now the game has transitioned into a more regular mmo progression system and people are wearing power creeped gear I think it’s really no longer appropriate.
Sure they can relog or call for friends but that’s hugely immersion breaking and there’s a very diminished sense of retribution if you have to do that. You guys these days won’t understand the satisfaction of beheading a max level player who jumped on you in Keshatta while you were levelling.
This is true, myself I have level 53 sin that only fights against 80 level players (800/300 kd)
years ago…
