Do they exist in game and if so, how do you use them/craft them?
Explosive imps are living creatures, you can’t craft them.
Explosive arrows might be in the game files, but they cannot be crafted.
Where can I get explosive imps?
You can’t. You don’t. They’re creatures, you kill them.
They can be found along the southern river. But if you’re wanting them for the volatile glands, the salamanders in the swamp drop a lot more.
This is a map where I marked the location of every spawn point for the volatile imps before official release.
Those animal icons at the bottom is where they spawn.
I’m really not sure if this is what you were looking for, I just took a guess…
