Faction missions are unplayable

How am I expected to play these missions if i keep getting disconnected every 5 minutes? Seriously, would think that dedicated servers would be a thing. Guess not. #Funconned

Sounds like a personal connection issue… Went through everything just fine

Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble staying connecting to the game. At this time, the servers should be available normally. If you haven’t already, I would recommend trying the general connectivity advice GM Nossos has provided in this thread:

If this doesn’t help, please visit us at Funcom Help - Funcom and submit an email support ticket using the provided web form. We can then escalate you to a technical support specialist for further investigation.

This only started after the Faction mission update, my connection is fine because it’s only affecting SWL. That means it’s your servers’ fault. After 6 disconnects my game just crashes because I assume I’ve run out of servers to connect to.

I understand this issue is frustrating and I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Please understand that we’re simply not equipped to troubleshoot every possible cause of disconnections through the forums. If the connectivity advice in the linked thread doesn’t help with the disconnections you’re seeing, an email support ticket will allow us to take a closer look at what’s going on, even if it’s not on your end specifically.

How about if it’s widespread? I’m not the only one experiencing frequent disconnections after the patch. Other players are too

We encourage anyone experiencing similar issues to try using the troubleshooting information we’ve provided publicly or reach out to us through our support portal at funcom.com/help. Please make sure you select Secret World Legends for the game and Tech for the ticket’s class and we’ll be happy to look into it.

Whether or not it’s only you or widespread, the best you can do, is do as CS suggests, and encourage others with similar issues to do the same. Personally I have had no issues.

With that out of the way, I highly recommend not being so hostile about it. It is not a problem everyone experience, so it might not even be a server issue. You make it sound like they were out to get you, and i highly doubt thats the case. Problems like these can easily be specific to a certain combination of computer setup among tons of other things. Things, as mentioned, that they can’t test for beforehand. Help them, help you, by providing them with the information they ask for, and maybe consider offering a “Thank you” at the end of the day.

I bloody hope it’s temporary. The disconnections have now spread outside the faction missions and are happening as rapidly as every 2 minutes. The game has become impossible to play

Update: Now everytime I get disconnected I have to restart the game since it won’t connect me to a new server

And now I can’t participate in the Put On Purple fashion show because i keep dcing. Thanks a lot ■■■■■■. Learn to fix your game

What results are you getting from running Ping Plotter to one of the server IPs?

Go to https://www.pingplotter.com/ and download the software. (Specifically: https://www.pingplotter.com/download)

Ping Plotter is fantastic for finding out WHERE your connection is going to crap. With this information, you can then follow up with the specific culprit. Otherwise you’re just whining into the wind without any specific information and proof of where the issue really is coming from.

From their website:
“PingPlotter helps solve network problems. It’s a network diagnostic tool that graphs latency and packet loss between your computer and a target. Visualizing the information accelerates your troubleshooting process and helps build a case if you ever need to convince someone a problem exists on their end.”

To find a SWL server IP address, SHIFT + F9 in game and use that IP address in Ping Plotter. For instance the server IP address I got when I was in Agartha was gs040-nj4.secretworld.com.

Am entertained by three people who have followed your link to a FC SWL server… am very tempted to become #4 just to see if it actually hosts a web server.

Use the pingplotter mentioned above.
If you find a Cogentco link, there’s not much you can do about latency. They are a horrible company.
As for the “I’m not the only one” argument, you are probably not the only one being shunted off onto that Cogentco backbone…
