EULA doesn’t say anything about selling a disabled product. Or that any preexisting Vac bans will prevent you from playing on their hosted servers. I have 4k hours. The infraction isn’t from any associated games either. Its from modding another companies game to run a private Modern Warfare 2 server YEARS ago.
Eula never stipulated any old vac bans making you unable to play another retailer game if this is the case ill be done with STEAM entirely because then the platform is just consumer unfriendly period.
It’s “jab” take a “jab”. And as the person stated, the EULA pertains to their product, not some other business entity’s product.
Try reading it again.
FUNCOM RESERVES THE RIGHTS TO SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE ANY ACCOUNT, SERVICE OR YOUR ACCESS TO THE GAME AT ANY TIME FOR ANY OR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE AND FUNCOM WILL NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OF VIRTUAL ITEMS OR VIRTUAL CURRENCY. IN THIS EVENT, THIS AGREEMENT WILL TERMINATE IMMEDIATELY.
You may terminate this Agreement by ceasing use of the Software and Service, cancelling any account you may have with us to use the Service (if any), and permanently deleting all copies of the Software in your possession or control.
And if you read a little bit above that…
DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL FUNCOM, ITS AFFILIATES AND/OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING FOR LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF CONTENT OR INABILITY TO ACCESS THE GAME.
My account’s VAC ban of which has nothing to do with Funcom’s product that also derives from my son but that still doesn’t matter as it is from 1300+ days ago is also MW2. Imagine that, an almost indie dev trying to enforce a AAA game developer’s bans.
Ironically, I am responsible for my server’s current positive state due to the moderating I instill there alongside other players of which @Ignasi and @Hugo are familiar with. We had a clan that circumvented their previous ban of which in part is why the new family sharing change is in play. It would be absurd to be on the backend of some denial of service.
$160 invested on my account, $160 on my son’s and wife’s. That’s 480 Funcom is @#%ing with atm.
Let’s not make a mountain out of a molehill. It’s obvious that this is yet another broken patch that made it to live without being properly tested. As such, it’s quite likely that they screwed up something in the code and that this wasn’t meant to be like that. Until they clarify it and/or hotfix it, we don’t know if it was an intended change or yet another consequence of substandard QA.
Given Funcom’s track record, I’m leaning towards the latter.
All good with me they just lose many players cause I aint buying squat again from em if this is the treatment of consumers PS word of mouth destroys companies let em punish ppl for no reason itll be on them.
I don’t understand, why would you whiteknight on behalf on a company?
You’d think they would proriotize this immediately over letting customers draw their own conclusions out of it.
and Conan Exiles is really a “word of mouth” game too and social media can make a huge impact on whether that’s good or not. Overnight at that.
You’d think that being in Oslo, they might have been asleep. In bed. Like humans.
White knighting would be defending Funcom. Telling someone that their letter to FTC has a whelk’s chance in supernova of having any effect is not “white knighting”, it’s dispelling delusions ![]()
That’s why crap like EULA and TOS exist in the first place, so that companies can avoid being held liable as much as they can get away with.
No, it’s really not. Take a jab means something else.
Here in the U.S. if you sell a product, virtual, physical, intellectual, etc. you’re free to word your TOS or EULA anyway you want to cover your ■■■, which is effective in most cases. However, if you’re actively selling/supporting a product and cannot justify simultaneously disabling it for an end user, we have other commerce laws and regulations which can and will triumph silver bullet TOS language. Did I say I’m going down to my local court house to file a small claims lawsuit for my petty cash back spent? No, I said I’m writing the FTC because wordsmithing a TOS/EULA doesn’t give you permission to commit fraudulent transactions. Selling a product and subsequently disabling it without justification is fraudulent in my opinion so as I said, if it’s not fixed by tomorrow I’m assuming this is a permanent decision and I’m writing that letter which they’ll have to reply to. Again, I’m not expecting any money back from what I’m doing. It’s simply to give them a headache and on my end it’s a valid complaint.
If you think you can sell something in the U.S. and within 72 hours disable the product for select end users without justification while keeping the same product active on the market, you’re out of your mind. Fortunately some people like me have leveraged resources I pay a significant amount of taxes towards and the end result ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. I know in Europe y’all are used to getting railroaded by your government and companies, things are different over here.
I don’t know what’s more hilarious: that you assumed I’m from Europe just because I don’t share your views, or that you think that Europeans get shafted by companies worse than we do here in the States ![]()
anyway this bug will be fixed
joke?
sorry offtop
10,000 years in captivity, where are my rights?

If you believe that your situation fits the description of a game bug, please edit your post to fit the Update and Bugs section. In its current form, it will probably be unlisted and locked. There’s alot of I want to talk to the manager posts around here that suffered the same fate.
This ranting and threatening just doesn’t work here. Direct messaging the moderation team with your problem might yield a better result.
Best regards.
We are used to thinking before posting and not shooting before asking. I know that seems like a weird concept.
Wh1skey completely right, the user paying for the game is essentially disenfranchised. You paid, but we can cancel it at any time without justification, regret, or any respect for you. Even just describing this fact doesn’t sound great. Naturally, there may be thousands or millions of users, but an individual approach does not work here. There are also scammers who use the game not as planned by the developers. Where is the line between a bona fide consumer and a violator? While it is not. You are all violators, but you are still allowed to play. I think so.
sorry for my english
Hey everybody,
We have identified the issue and it has been fixed. This was a backend fix so you should be able to connect now if you were affected by this problem.
Please be aware that the family share changes are active, so family shared accounts will still be unable to connect to official servers, or servers that choose to opt into this new setting.
Thanks
