When the announcement was made that a new model for rocknoses was going to be added in the game, I really didn’t care. But now that I’ve gotten to see them and interact with them, I have to say, they really are quite good and I’m very pleased with these new models. This was the “gift I didn’t know I wanted.” Very well done!
Bug: However, the animation of the new rocknoses (mostly pathing animation) still seems a bit off. They pop out of the ground with their sound, but then they typically just hang there (maybe a little quivering like they are trying to get moving, but can’t quite make it). After a few seconds, then they start their combat routine.
So, I really like the new changes to the rocknose models, but the pathing needs a little tweaking.
I always imagined they were shaking with anger/winding themselves up in annoyance when I saw that. Besides, there’s so darn many it gives me a little more time to get them off my tail instead of them instantly cantering towards me the moment they pop.
I found interest in taming them now to get the greater variants. Bought 100 of them at the market up north on Siptah. I have only gotten 2 greater over the last two animal pen sessions. My question is how do you get greater rock noses that are new, and if anyone else knows what specific food to feed them for the new variants?
I’ve tried the 3 highest foods on the Wiki but obviously its out of date, the foods have returned 2 standard rocknose that stand on their two hind legs.
The new ones Im trying to get ar the new greater rocknoses that stand on all fours. The new attacks they have been given is a aoe 360 spike ability that does a x4 bleed stack. Also a venom spit similar to the reapers which also apply a near instant x4 venom stacks.
Wonder what other people’s experience with taming is with them. Just placed 20 more rock noses into the pen so I’ll see what that drums up.
The new multicolored greater rocknoses are nice, they give you gold, silver, coal, iron, stone, brimstone, demonblood, crystal and ichor (might be forgetting something)
