919 hours (Steam time).
I meant in months/years, but that works.
- [Interface]
On the current UI i would remove 1 Slot from the Combo Bar and add a Secondary Combo Bar with 3 Slots. The Upper would be used for Main Weapon only and the other for Secondary Weapon.
I would add a Secondary Passive Skill Bar with 2 Slots for Secondary Weapon only as well.
This would Enhance Weapon Synergy by itself and therefore make the Combo/ Skill/ Ability System much more Versatile resulting in an even better Combat System.
- [Misc]
I would increase the Aurum Market Cap slightly (Few Percentages) so i can increase the Daily MoF number by an additional 5000 or 10000 maybe and add Bonus Daily Reward for Completing 1-2 Elite Dungeons/ 1 Raid/ 1 Lair.
I would also add the option for SP/ AP respec at the cost of MoF or Aurum same way Weapon Skills are purchased.
[Interface] Suggestion for Auction House
Please add a filter option for “Show only unowned”
I believe there is a checkbox for “items I can use” down at the bottom, which does what I think you are asking for.
It’s not perfect:
- containers will always show up (like the Mythic outfits, even if you have all the pieces)
- faction-limited items for factions you don’t belong to will show up, even though you can’t use them (they would be transformed into the version for your faction)
- Museum items seem to always show up even if you’ve fully upgraded. This might only be for the “alternate pose” Mythic items; I haven’t investigated fully.
OMG Thank you. Bottom right corner - I had not ever seen this. You made my day!
I think the biggest limitation is that the auction only returns so many results. Lets say you just search by category. You pick Cosmetics and press search. If there are 10,000 items for sale, you won’t see them all. I believe you only see the first 1000, but I’m not completely sure of that number. I just know you only see some. The “Items I can use” checkbox just filters from those 1000 items and still doesn’t show you the other 9000 items that are essentially hidden from you. In order to get the best use out of “Items I can use” you will want to narrow down your search as much as possible. Use all subcategories and try to use a search term if you have an idea of what you’re looking for.
I did notice this recently. For things like clothing where there’s a lot out there, it can be useful to e.g. search for Cosmetics/Clothing/Standard with the filter “I can use” ON. Then search for Cosmetics/Clothing/Superior etc. I’ve found this will return items when Cosmetics/Clothing/All won’t. I think you are correct that “I can use” only filters on the returned results - you can flip back and forth instantly, while doing a different subcategory requires a new search.
If you’re searching for e.g. a signet (especially Cruel Delight or Nemain) then put the name in the search text box, e.g. “Cruel” or “Nemain” while limiting it to Upgrades/Signets.
It is more work, but it’s likely more fruitful.
[Interface] More slots in the Build Manager please.
I know its not the “fix” your looking for but BooBuilds mod offers that plus a dozen other features that will probably never be available as part of the base game install. Gear manager in TSW did have 100 slots actually but Boobuilds has virtually unlimited slots and allows you to have a quick access tab on screen for easy switching. Plus saving outfits etc if thats your thing.
Yeah I used BooBuilds until today when all my builds were gone. Now using it again since it wasn’t a BooBuild issue I had but the issue with the Prefs folder that I fixed with Ceili’s help who read about your fix for it. Thanks for that btw ![]()
Always good to make a backup to. Can export to notepad. Have had everything wiped in the past and its a nightmare to set everything back up again from scratch.
Currently doing that and I’m already in a bad mood XD
Will make a backup this time!
An easy Currency Redo that could help the game be more appealing: [Items] [Misc]
To start, I’ve been playing both this game and the original Secret World for about 8 years total. I recently invited a couple of friends to play SWL and these were a couple things I noticed when helping them get started.
When playing and making an account the two things that came up between me and my friends were how the currency system is implemented. Despite how easy it actually is to get the marks to unlock new weapons and speeds, my friends felt like it was locking them out of the game because the currency was restricting them due to it only being available through daily challenges. It seems as this is a minor complaint from the community, and strangely, sometimes those underlying complaints are the ones that people can pay attention to the most within their own psyche.
So, here’s my proposal.
-
Change the currency system, so that Anima Shards, and Marks of favor are both simply just Marks of Favor. Have them drop from enemies and quests in small amounts, as well as bonuses from the Daily challenges. This will allow new players to feel as though they are getting something more out of quests and the world, even if it’s roughly the same amount of daily currency as it currently is through the challenge system, this can make people feel as though they are making more progress. If the daily currency gain does change a significant deal In game currency items and Weapon unlocks can have their prices adjusted to fit the new mold while still being reasonable and hopefully an easily changeable point of interest for the game developers. I feel that this is important not only because of the basic psychological instinct to want to see progress being made, but also because a lot of the people that you want to get hooked on a free to play model are either low income or are students with very little money. Once they are hooked on a fair seeming free to play model, they are more likely to spend the money later to upgrade their character.
-
Stop the trade system between Marks and Aurum. While it was a good idea initially it currently is a system that is easily abused. Also it makes the above seem impossible at the moment.
Instead it might be more fruitful to make it so that Aurum can be gained through selling limited unbound items. Such as items from Loot box drops, Dungeons, Raids, Events, Keys, and other incredibly rare items that are hard to farm. Warframe took this approach, and implemented a Rarity system that made their economic exchange naturally balance it’s self. Where the rarity of the item determined how much was traded for it, and how much of their payed currency was bought to buy items that were put up for trade.
Further more to bring in more income and restrict the flow of rare items, you could put small time locks on either Dungeons, or Dungeon Chests. Not anything too Crazy, somewhere between 3 and 8 hours would be about perfect, and have those time locks be removable via a small Aurum payment between 30 and 75 Aurum. In my personal experience it seems that people are far more willing to spend a small amount of money, to remove a minor inconveniences. Look at box cake mixes as an example. Or the fact that games like Warframe and Guild wars seem to generate steady money.
Finally) While the above would be more new player friendly, It may also be helpful to market the changes, if they are made, to social media platforms, so that the people who still follow and play can get the word out. There are also additions that can be made if an uptick in player base is seen, such as adding the ability to send currency and keys through the mail to make private trades, new loot boxes, and drops in addition to the ones that are already available that could be unlocked easier with Aurum.
Could we have another way to sit, possibly the Seiza position?
Current sitting positions: (/sit , sit: Lookout, sit: relaxed)
Image: Bambi sitting
All of those positions have the knees apart and gets a little inapropriate when wearing a skirt.
The japanese Seiza position would be awesome:

Could we, please? ![]()
Oh, also, the character animation is in the game allready. Gozen is using it. It just needs to be available to player characters as well. ![]()

[Misc] idea#1
The Secret World Classic (maybe even legends) needs offline support. Allow players to play in single player mode offline. Or allow players to connect to each other (Not via funcom accounts. Could be done through the launcher) to play together.
Dungeons and Raids in single player offline mode may be impossible but having players able to connect and play together makes it doable.
[Misc] idea#2
I read in the forums about people asking for events in The Secret World Classic to be brought back. I think it’s a wonderful idea. The events can be turned on and don’t have to be changed or updated. Just allow some events in The Secret World Classic.
I feel I need to disclaimer that I don’t mean this to be negative. I love the story. For what it was, I enjoyed the game. This is a larger picture Suggestion.
The game is effectively on life support. Dwindling player numbers, etc etc… I don’t need to go on, we understand the state. What I would like to see:
Open the game up to the community. Enable us to run single player local, or create and run our own dedicated servers. Basically, don’t just kill it, but hand it off. The number of open source, community built remasters are amazing, and the dedication of the fans of this game is legendary and they deserve the chance to do what we know FC doesn’t have the budget for and understandably is not financially viable.
Why I think this is beneficial for Funcom?
A. community sentiment. it’s the good guy move. It lets it live beyond the need for support, and emboldens all the fans to spread good word about the game, the IP and the company.
B. It creates marketing and lore/world building around the IP
New Games directly tied to the IP
This has already happened, with The Park. A great example, but I think everyone is really dying for the next chapter of SWL that is never going to happen, especially since we left off in Africa on a cliffhanger. Projects obviously NEED to be profitable for the company. So sunset SWL and make a whole new (NON-MMO) game that continues the story. Could absolutely be multiplayer, but doesn’t need to be an MMO. 1-4 player co-op story driven immersive RPG that continues the story. Break free from the engine, from the combat, from the UI. The IP is BIGGER than the game. Unshackle yourselves from SWL. Make Secret World: Agartha Safari - 1-4 player co-op RPG and I will throw money at you!
Warning: Funcom chased the mmo model too late. PLEASE learn from this mistake and DO NOT try to chase the live service model trend. (loot boxes, season passes, microtrans shop, half finished game, seasonal content etc)
If you do this, you will just be pumping resources into repeating SWL all over again. It will fail horribly. Just make a good RPG game. make stacks, win awards, and then… make another.
Even LONGER term…
Once the IP has been revitalized and SWL is decade or older and the OG SW is 15+ etc… Then you remaster the entire experience. Same story (streamlined) but as a modern game. You’ll have built the IP and will have so much Amazing story and writing and art design just on hand. this would be an easy home run. You could basically just use all of SWL and ALL of it’s community lore as a rough design bible for the story/plot. Just completely reworked for a single player/co-op experience.
examples: Games I think Funcom should look to for inspiration on what a new game from this IP could look or play like.
A. Metro Exodus does an amazing job at super immersive story telling. Full first person.
B. Souls like. Bouncing around Dark Agartha as if it was Elden Ring or Jedi Fallen Order ooh yeah.
C. God of War. finely crafted action story. Remember the TSW trailers? But as actual gameplay, yum.
D. and of Course. The Witcher/Cyberpunk. If any I think CDPR is the MOST similar to what fans would expect. An experience like Cyberpunk 2077 but in the SWL IP would be AMAZING. This would be my number 1 pick for what a new game might look/feel/play like.
Final Thought: The idea of seeing Secret World made in Unreal Engine 5 makes me indecently excited. If there are any superfans of SWL (like me) reading this that have some skill in environment design. A single scene from SWL done in UE5 that we could show Funcom. Look, I love SW, I just want to see it continue and try in any way to spur that on. This is the path forward, in my humble opinion. Everytime I come back TRYING to dig up ANY amount of dev info I secretly hope the game will have just ended, so I can stop hoping. So I can just move on. But here it is, like a blind deaf dog covered in matted fur and infected abscesses. The faithful companion that I love. That gave me years of joy… reduced to this… Looking like the pet dog from The Fly 2. It breaks my heart… have mercy.
[feedback] [PvP] [Cabal] Hello! We are players of Secret world legends for several years, Leandro Tiberio a Systems Analyst, (username soylean and character Athan Arion Prothos) and Leonardo Pereira, BD Communications (username Ryokusai, character " Zweihnder ").
We really enjoy playing this great game, in fact we started it when it was not yet Legends and it was the original secret world and from our experience and knowledge we want to bring you our vision because we love this game.
Many things have changed, some for the better and others not so much. We notice that there are fewer and fewer people and many of us are angry about that.
This is our contribution for so many moments of Happiness and we would like to share it openly with you to help you from our humble experience, as players and professionals:
Starting with the generality of the game, the Huge changes that have been made have modified so many years of gaming from one day to the next, changing builds, skills, and the direction of the characters among others, that made them lose confidence and we noticed the enormous drop of players.
We propose some important points that can strongly attract a bigger flow of players.
Problem: Factions are not taken advantage of
It’s a HUGE pity that the game doesn’t take advantage of the factions like in the previous version, like a BIG house with values and defending and taking care of the secret world from their point of view. In the past there were faction wars
Solution: Re-enable faction wars that would add up to a lot, that it was in the past, templars vs illuminati vs dragons. That was spectacular, it gave the feeling of belonging, it greatly favored the honor and the belonging of your character to his tradition, which would speed up the training and naturally the purchase of subscriptions, equipment, and others.
Problem: low Pvp, or almost none. The pvp is wasted, and does not encourage the competition and the growth of the characters and without goals of growth, the need to become powerful is exclusively to face npcs and not other characters, which finally ends up perish for game theory.
Solution: that you can activate 3 modes in your profile. No pvp – Accept duel – Pvp . where under the activation of those modes you can fight with other characters on any map (even in teams). The experience would be very real when walking through the dangerous and mysterious secret world and also having to deal with spontaneous battles that would generate enormous adrenaline and tension
• No pvp: you are not fit to fight, you are not willing to engage in combat
• Accept duel: if someone offers you a duel, you can accept it and fight anywhere
• Pvp: PVP mode is activated and in almost any place (except chapter houses and some other places) you can attack and receive attacks, as if it were the aggressive zones.
Problem: Low trade. We understand that the equipment is “bounded” to the character is a strategy to “encourage the purchase of subscriptions”, but it is definitely not a business for the characters and it greatly lowers the levels of trade within the game
Solution: Let Players freely trade their own used gear so they can grow faster, getting higher levels before they can fight in pvp and face real faction battles or another players.
Obviously we could suggest more modifications to help you because we insist that we really like the game and we want it to be the best of all.
Conclusions: The increase in competition, both with pvp and faction wars, which would be epic free-for-all battles (at all times, or on certain days) will greatly increase the incentive to train, grow, play and belong, as explained. In game theory, the feeling of beating another free-choice character is Very different to the player’s mind than beating a programmed character. This increase in competition as literally in real life, will greatly increase the trade between players to acquire equipment, and others to improve their characters by increasing the interaction between them, “forcing” them to obtain high level equipment, best builds, and bounding with other players if they want to win the Faction War, or stay alive in the secret world, walking around with the pvp mode activated the secret world can become a true epic game along with ALL the wonderful investigation and mystery missions, completing the gamma of emotions between suspense, mystery, intelligence, adventure, honor and adrenaline.
