Female body forms

It would be nice to have more body options which are:

  • not immersion breaking: let’s say, a hand of generic templates on which you could add a % of height, weight, muscles/softness, but which would still be limiting enough as to not meet with trolling characters (like the Atlas character picture posted above in this thread)
  • more realistic on details: concerning the “size” of hands, the “heaviness” of the generous female breasts, or the clipping of hair on clothes
  • not skill breaking: range of weapons unaffected by size of body/hand mesh

Much? Okay. These threads make this seem easy to add mods. The entire female rig could be a mod. :upside_down_face:  Sounds compelling. I think some of that logic is already in another mod. It has to be for console deployment.

I don’t know at all. I am not making mods, so…
You speak of changes for console, and I agree. You see… I don’t play with mods at all lol.
So even if there are mods made which alter the body, I do not know them.
However, if modders manage to change the body options without breaking the game, it does give me hope for the future body changes Funcom could implement one day (even if it’s not in their agenda right now).
The mods, in my case, only serve one purpose: giving me hope on what is technically possible to do to improve the core of the game.

lore-wise the nordheimers are of two types: the vanir have red hair and the aesir have blond hair. and they fight with each other, they dont hang out together.
calling their settlement ‘new asagarth’ implies they are aesir, though all you see is red and brown hair.
perhaps the nordheimers in the exiled lands are crossbreeds with other hyborian race, and that’s why they were exiled

More tools. I hoped for the entire player body was stored on cdn, but I guess that is not fair to the middle east. The sorcerers bench may store several dances… I mean rituals. It could be made intuitive.

That’s the issue, they don’t. There are clipping issues and problems with maneuvering your character when you play something outside the standard limits. The last time I was playing on a high fantasy server which allowed for extensive modifications, there was a bit of a disclaimer that if you played certain characters that you wouldn’t be able to use mounts, fit in doors, be able to attack enemies properly, and would lose some armor options as some stuff would just be buggy as all get out.

For this to be in base game and to the standard people expect, it can’t be done the way the mods do it. It has to be done on the armor mesh side of things. There’s hundreds of meshes. And each would need to be tested (again) with whatever system they made. And they would likely need to create entirely new meshes.

Just adding a single new body type would double the number of meshes. Which they would have to model and test pro bono unless they sold the customization option. But that is a ton of meshes taking up space, effort, and resources they could be using to make entirely new outfits. Which are probably likely to be worth more and more valuable to the playerbase.

Its a bit of work, and this isn’t suggesting they shouldn’t do it. But its going to come down to how much effort they are going to want to throw into it. I can say this however. They’re likely not going to be motivated to do body types that aren’t as ‘appealing’ as some would like them to do. So for the foreseeable future, players will have to cope with ‘prettier’ characters than themselves.

I tried search terms from this last year, 2020. It looks like it is just waiting to be implemented and finished to continue distribution. I tried to redo a point that it was out of place.

Sorta kinda possibly maybe a little bit related.

I’m getting some Texicus vibes here.

nah! got various blond nordehmians since i started to play 3 years ago. But there are folks with light brown hair too.

I was just thinking how accurate and beautiful the female models are in Conan Exiles. No absurdly long legs, not unusually skinny. Just basic average, attractive, healthy woman. Thumbs up on existing designs!

I agree, but everything is spoiled by unrealistically huge breasts, which occur too often. Moreover, it seems to me that this began to happen so often after the update of Chapter 3.

Are you claiming that the default Conan exiles doesnt have clipping issues?

Who cares? I remember I once had a character on a modded server so big, I had to crouch walk through regular doors. ;D

The primary reason I would run any mods at all in Conan exiles is getting more muscular bodies for women. I happen to like them that way.

Whenever these sort of topics pop up I can never quite figure out why ADDING options makes people think that we are DETRACTING something. You can get all your barbie figures still. How is the mere existence of somewhat more masculine and muscular women such an affront to ya all that you have to pull out all the strawmen you can think of?

Of course I’m not. But we don’t have clipping that hides an entire piece of armor inside the body.

So keep doing so.

Just understand that the developer has their tastes too. And they are not beholden to provide beyond what they want to provide.

Steroids, HGH etc doesn’t exist in the Hyborian Age. Genetically females can’t carry as much muscle mass as a male. Go read the article I linked, then go google any image of any natural female bodybuilder compared to one on performance enhancers.

Steroids, in some extreme cases, can grow a protuberance in the intimate part of a woman. My colleague is a bodybuilder, a lady from his club had it as a side effect of all she’s ingesting to grow muscles. I agree with you that a strong woman in the Hyborian Age would not look like what a bodybuilder would look in Modern Age.
Let’s have a look at the Shaolin monks. None of them, though strong, super shaped, and training every single day since childhood (except during their periods), looks near close to a bodybuilder. No steroids for the Shaolins.

To be fair, some settings in male characters are unobtainable naturally too. Being that big and dry at the same time naturally?
One in a 10 million perhaps. But every 4th or 5th character looks that way, sooooo maybe there were some juice they just didn’t talk about? Hyborian "natty"s I’d say

Why is everyone so crazy about how man or female looks in some code or game its not real thing anyway, once ago games was with stories, with functions, but now everyone wants some realism for things that is just virtual and not real, i would understand if humans talk about how real human body should be fit and such but never about ‘‘realism’’ in games - games are for fun not to live in them xD
