I agreed because of it every weapon should be deadly not crapped.
Horse are usuless now even in pve, thanks to this “balancing”, at least they should be largelly found in the wilderness at max lvl because theres no point to raise it lvl it by hours and lose it in 2 minutes.
Except that it wasn’t a 1hit weapon… it was only a 1hit weapon if you were already missing HP and you set it up correctly in a staged environment to where you’re standing at the exact edge of the dash range (otherwise it did 2 hits at most and you dashed through the player).
On top of that it has a perk counter that will make you survive it no matter what…
And further on top of it you could take a tiny step to the left or right and completely avoid it as it’s not controllable in any way and the moment you start charging it up you’re locked into the direction…
All of these together make it simply insignificant and like even @SirDaveWolf and @TheReaperOfChess admitted it was more of a nuisance in high-lag bigger team-fights than some real unbalanced one-shot mechanic… The goomba stomp is 100x worse imo… just to point out an example
So no, it wasn’t that big of an issue, it’s just that some people found it occasionally annoying when they got unlucky enough to actually die from it - typically from either lag or their own lack of attention.
Yea that looks fine, I really don’t see an issue with that. 2 pets were attacking you for quite a while and you didn’t even come close to dying The only time you did was when the Sabertooth decided to do a katana attack on you with 3 very quick hits and even then you survived.
I agree 100% I genuinely liked the weapon for that move, especially now that str and agi weapons are separated and the agility selection is so limited. It wasn’t about the damage either, I actually liked the multiple hits and the fact that in PvE hitbox mattered so it became more of a counter to large hitbox enemies like dragons and crocodiles… Plus it was special in that you could weave the dash into the combo for something a bit different than mindless button mashing… but more of a precision thing since you had to do your combo and then also try to time it right and try to “aim the unaimable”.
Basically it just got nerfed cuz a handful of people cried for nerfs out of annoyance… nothing more so it’s kind of sad imo. Like even in this very post there’s OP doing PvP in legion armor and trying to tank the full hit from it instead of taking a step to the side (funny though that even they have the counter-perk so it was a successful face-tank)
Never said it was. I said they dont want 1 hit weapons. Not 2 hit weapons either.
Thing is. It’s still viable from the stats I’ve seen. You cant just dash into a group anymore and do several hits on 1 player anymore, wich most likely will kill him because of it. No skill in it. With new patch atleast you need to put some effort before killing someone with katana. Like with any weapon out there.
People didnt want it nerfed to the ground they said. It wasnt. People still saying it shouldnt be nerfed. It’s a pretty simple conclution for me, you guys want it easy as possible. No skill required.
Well sure, nobody said it wasn’t viable as a regular weapon, I think I pointed that out in every thread.
In fact the DPS from the old dash isn’t that terribly huge, it’s just that it’s all burst… standing still and chaining light-heavy attacks like with any other weapon gets you a fairly close dps, it’s just… more boring imo… it’s like any other weapon then so they killed the part of it that made it special. Just like @erjoh said above
And so the dash means nothing but looks cool…except for the fact that it’s not a finishing move so you stand there like a dufus and wait for the enemy to hit you in the back of the head…IMHO, just drop the special attack now and give a block so you can do highlander battles.
Nah majority will just go back to spear and other weapons that require a skill.
Only daggers spam remains for the agility build it seems.
Add Skelos nerf on top just to see the majority, wait, both easy to get and the best stats and armor-wise options provide only str % bonuses.
We are officially back to the old perks system when agility was nothing but roll recovery stat.

Get good with katana then? Dont just rely on the dash.
Well you guys acting like it’s not gonna be viable. You know, there is few weapons that have that amount of hyperarmor as katana does, why should it have that much hyperarmor and also have a chance to deal 90% of someones HP? I dont see that logical at all from a balance aspect.
And what do you mean by special? Isnt all weapons special? Katana is not special just because it can deal multiple damage in one dash lol.

Take a look at other weapons in the list?
Claws? Shit during normal ping and only viable in lag environment.
Bow? Counterproductive simply because agility provides no carry weight so you either deal less dmg or place yourself in a support role.
Short swords? I’m sure some sp player will come up and say voidforge glad is quite op against npcs in some camp.
Then you have katana and daggers that perform somewhat ok.
My Ire comes from both katana and armor nerf.
If you introduce 2 scaling at least make them somewhat equal. I feel like I nerf my character for movement speed bump aka quickfoot.
I’d rather see it removed at this point and who scaling scrapped.
