Followers Won't Attack When Weapon is Traded Out

Almost all of the time when I trade out a Follower’s weapon they will not attack with it. They just stand there holding weapon.

Steps on how to reproduce issue:

1. Open Follower inventory
2. Take old weapon
3. Give new weapon
4. Fight something

Yes it is true . When you try to change the weapon of a thrall , at the time it is following you ,the AI gets confused and though it pulls out the weapon to fight ,it doesn’t. The only weapon the thrall can accept to change is the similar. Change axe with axe ,or sword with sword . What I understand is that this happens because the thrall has to change fighting style .At the time that you ask your thrall to follow you , you will get 3 fight styles:
The one of the weapon it holds .
Barehanded .
Truncheon style ,but with great danger that it’s AI will be really confused .

Hello @Irkalla, we’re aware of the issue and it’s being looked into by the team.

It does seems to occur more frequently when changing from a one handed weapon to a two handed one, or vice-versa, especially while the thrall has its current weapon out.

In addition to the information in the video, best practice is to give a thrall that you use for knocking out a one handed weapon, any one handed weapon. The issue with switching only occurs when you change from a two handed weapon to a one handed.
