Forcing players to dye items in the Dyer’s Bench with only a singe ITEM TO DYE option makes it extremely tedious for anyone trying to outfit thralls in a uniform appearance. This requires a player to move each item into the ITEM TO DYE box, dye it, then move it out of the box placing it in an inventory or other slot, then drag the next item into the ITEM TO DYE box and dye it. The old method did not require this drawn out rearranging of items and was much more player friendly. If you insist on forcing players to move items into the Dyer’s Bench to dye them, eliminate the single ITEM TO DYE slot and let them place items into the bench’s inventory and dye them there, or better yet, go back old system and eliminate a lot of repetitive and unnecessary dragging around of items just to achieve a different look to armor that has no other game impact other then just visual.
Agree, I pointed out it turned a simply operation in to tedious task. What makes it worse is the explanations they gave for it.
I’m trying to track down the testlive patch note; which seems hidden to me, where they explain they thought the bench need more to do to reflect is size. Ya ha ha, just means the thought of making it smaller never enter their heads.
(I think that’s the bit you meant? From the top of the Q&A thread. Alternatively, I found my way to the patch notes by searching ‘Public Beta’ - going to the top of the Discussion Megathread and then there’s a link back to the patch notes - there was probably an easier way to do that, lol)
Why are they trying to make me return home? All they are doing is making it hard for me to be a gypsy! We are traveling folk my house is my camel.
Shhhhhhh! Quiet! Otherwise they will hear and reduce the camels’ inventory.
Funcom working on the stuff that works rather than the broken stuff and bugs,i prefer to dye outfits while im wearing them!
If there’s forced dying at the dyer’s bench, shouldn’t it be renamed to the gallows? Dyeing is the word you’re looking for in regards to the thread title
Yep. Once again, we have a solution looking for a problem. Since one did not exist, they just reclassified it, kinda like moving the Yamatie cushions to decorations.
Because, reasons.
Deamo, that’s the funny part. This game is not about being a Conan-like character where you wonder about adventuring, it’s about being lord of the manner. There are mods that reduce the size of crafting benches so you can get away with a small cabin for a base, but the vanilla game requires you to build a huge base to house all the crafting benches, not very Conan-like, at least in his pre-becoming a king by his own hand days.
Instead of fixing them like they said they would? Is it off the table now? I ask because I bought this set after devs said it would be fixed, exactly because it was to be fixed.
I like to build round. Figure my main base is one row of blocks bigger then a maproom. I have most all my benches on the first floor with stupid amounts of room. My thralls get to set around on nice chairs in study groups. Second floor i have my dark stuff, slavers bench, greater friendship wheel, golem benches, sorcery bench and sacrificial alter. 3rd floor is the transpatroy stone pad, and magic pad/circle. With plenty of room to land a bat. I do have a 4x4 private room on the first floor, but all benches have plenty of storage. Like almost enough to complain about
Now I am dedicated to Set, so only do one temple. But I don’t recall seeing any place in game that says you need to do all the gods. Each temple doesn’t need to be that big. My open air temple to set is 2 blocks bigger then the T3 alter base.
If I recall you stated that you don’t use the bigger versions of the benches though?
I could be wrong, but the last word I heard on the previous Dev Stream was that the reclassification to decoration was the fix.
Shit, I do hope you are wrong @Pugilist or they’ll never see the end of it. Like me, a lot of people are expecting that fix to happen.
And how long have you been playing Conan?
What did you think of the tub fix?
The toilet fix?
The nemedian foundation fix?
The lost thrall fix?
Or better yet that fix for push off ledges to fall through NPCs?
Are you seriously expecting a fix?
Years, as you know, @DeaconElie .
They specifically said they would fix this issue.
It’s not that I had a mind wipe and forgot how some things are broken from day one.
Devs just said they would fix this particular issue, because it pretty much renders the set useless for its intended purpose.
What fix was that? I didn’t hear of it.
You can sit on it. Was it supposed to happen something else?
That was the only fix. But with the way funcom fixes things, do you really want it fixed
Still think it would be better to give use T 1-3 dying benches. I mean if it worked like the armorers bench, drop a bunch of armors in to dye rather then one at a time, would be better.
What would be real nice is an actual explanation, Because other wise the thinking goes like “Hey, you know that thing that is real easy to do? Lets make it 5X harder”. Because that is basically the explanation we got.
Oh gosh no… that’s just asking for bigger and more ridiculous benches. I’d rather just make it smaller and NOT have this new feature of one item with no way to preview it on the character. Let’s not give them more reasons to do anything stupid. That’s what gets us into these positions of annoyance. Rather than giving “options,” just say what we want and they have to find the best and most compromising way to achieve said goal.
