Friendly Reminder in regards to Bazaar "Cosmetics"

Well thankfully this is what the forums are for, to voice one’s opinions, likes and dislikes. I came here to address all my fellow exiles and remind them of the dumb restrictions placed on overpriced cosmetic armor and weapons, so they don’t fall for these predatory practices. I also hope to direct my opinion to Funcom, it is my given right to express myself and I will keep doing so. No, I won’t suck it up, no I won’t shut up about it, until either Funcom gives a concrete response saying “we will never change this ever” or they do.

Feeling same as you. Also who payed modding community to stick with the game and keep it alive? And mods still coming. I dare Funcom to disable support for mods. Let’s see how many people will continue to play this game. Everything that’s found on bazaar mods do it much better.

Why would they disable mods? They literally have multiple people dedicated to not only the development of moddable features but to help the modding community. They would sooner remove the server browser before that.

I said I dare. You should just take a deep breath and read once more.

Ok you’re daring them to remove an entire team from their production. Why?

I think you are forgetting the very sizeable console player base that can’t mod…I mean if you feel that strongly that CE should be console only, I guess that’s ok with me but I got friends on here that would be quite upset with your end game.

Wellll, when you are graduated from a great university and your GPA is barely Pi, you start thanking your lucky stars.

I was looking at the figures right after AOS rollout, and then these ones I’ve published here, and it started to dawn on me. My era is cinema movies, and it occurs to me that we have a phrase “B Movie.” You know, one that’s not good, but for some reason is still watchable. I’ve seen plenty of those. But a C Movie? I was in one once with Michael Biehn* and Annabella Sciorra, but I never watched it.

In fact, the only C Movie I think I’ve ever seen is Prince of Darkness, which still scares me for all the wrong reasons.

That’s what Forums, and friends are for. I hope Funcom starts acting like our friends again. I miss them. <3

* Trivia, since everyone loves him: I was also his stand-in although we are vastly different in size and shape. He’s probably the most consummate actor I’ve ever met, a true professional.

Well, probably we need the solution -
you get default (not skin) item when you pick it up…
My problem is not about free skins but restrictions to USE loot in game about looting, i bought every dlc (no siptah yet) so pls dont tell me about free-stuff lovers
You know the secret what motivated me to buy even meh dlcs (Riddle of steel)??? R_E_A_S_O_N_A_B_L_E prices… period.
Now bazaar prices are not reasonable at all… but i am ok with that, no1 force us to buy this stuff anyways
But locking ingame gear by skin paywall is BAD decision lads… really

Dune is an mmo though. The two games therefore have two distinct customer bases. In light of the original press blurb, the fact that its an mmo was a bit of surprise (and relief as I won’t be splitting my time away from CE).

Technically, it’s the money flowing in from purchasing Crom Coins, whether they’re used in the bazaar, Battle Pass, or just held for the sake of it.

Especially when you don’t even get the coins from what I’ve seen in the forum they can’t even do that right

No I don’t think I will. I think I rather stop by here, on this “opinion broadcast tool” that a forum is; and leave my opinion as well on the matter because If all goodies are going to be listed behind a credit card wall it is good to know before hand before investing forward in this game.
Why would you ever tell someone to not leave an opinion on a forum if they disagree with something in game? it is a very salty and senseless comment on your end. Your opinion is not about the game, is about the people and what they do and have no place here.

I cleared high school with a 3.0, not sure what that would translate as with the new changes.

If you wanna watch a D movie, go see Monster Hunter.

But it’s not a looter game, is it? It’s not like Diablo or the others, where your primary goal is to run around killing stuff for loot.

Building, Survival, Crafting, even the Slavery aspects, all seem like they would take priority over looting.

Debatable

Although Its obvious how you feel

The door opens both ways, my friend. I added my opinion and now you tell me I have no place here? Amusing, to say the least.
When someone uses innuendo to post a topic such as “friendly reminder”, they are trying to be clever and failing. The majority of us do not need a friendly reminder from someone who cannot give items away any longer, we know how the new system works.
There is a big difference between " I do not agree with the new system" and the smarmy “friendly reminder” OP.
And again, your generalization that everything is “listed behind a credit card firewall” is inaccurate and incorrect, but you do you because it is your story and you have every right to make up whatever pleases you and post it on this “opinion broadcast tool”.

The PVP servers I have been apart of in the past usually did allow for looting and the main reason to do so is to show who you killed. It was very common for most competitive players to dye their armors in unique ways. Thus if you took their armor, you had a unique set.

Of course people could use forgeries, but in this case it was for people’s personal collections, rather than actually showing off to others, so forgery was rare enough that I didn’t see it. Also raids would be done to retrieve said armor, and such armor would be considered part of restitution (fully repaired as well in many cases) if an offending clan wanted a truce.

10-15 people razing a base because someone ganked someone in a 3v1 fight and took their armor and the raid is to get it back sounds like some petty crap to PVP over… but it sure was some fun times.

I definitely can understand the desire to raid for cosmetics here. I would hope some form of middle ground can be found so that there isn’t simply just one guy providing paid cosmetics to an entire server. But people can feel rewarded for PVP.

I dunno, maybe if you kill someone in PVP, you get access to one of their DLC/Cosmetics and they temporarily lose it. If you die, it goes back to them. They get it back automatically on server restart and people who took it lose it. I don’t exactly like the solution, but just throwing a random idea out there.

The early days of PVP were all about taking other peoples mats and destroying their base. It had nothing to do with looting someones armor for the color scheme. It was, and probably still is, rare that people actually fight it out in PVP. This of course is on Officials, we get that private servers are gods gift to humanity and do it better.

Go easy, JJ’s not like that. She is offering some context as to why people are “stifling” others’ views here: it’s been jawed and discussed for eons. Or at least, in my opinion, since 10C did their hostile takeover of Funcom, and eventual buyout. Backs and forths become visual static in a thread that was ostensibly designed to draw attention to Bazaar drawbacks.

I have been aware of the OP @Dakhma for some time, and enjoyed their input. They are among the people I miss the most around here, and it’s unfortunate they are returning to the game while it is in such a state.
