Game mode: [Singleplayer]
Problem: [Crash]
Region: [NA]
I’m hosting a Co-op singleplayer session and people aren’t able to join even though they were able to join 5 minutes before this started. They are getting a bunch of error messages and it won’t connect.
Im also having this issue. Is anyone even working on this? My wife and I played daily, but haven’t been able to sense the update! Please fix this, or at least tell us what’s going on.
Unfortunately, whatever is going on there won’t be addressed until after the New Year. Folks there are on going on vacation for the holidays, and unlike the PC, they can’t just push out updates to the consoles as needed (the wonderous certification process at work).
Have you and your wife considered renting a server? Since you play daily, if you can swing the $12/mo (or so) I think it’s a worthwhile investment. It means your Xbox isn’t doing double-duty, wouldn’t require both of you to be in-game at the same time, and you wouldn’t be tethered to one another.
Frankly speaking, some things are just broken in the single player/co-op version (star metal meteor showers, I’m looking at you!) and co-op issues seem to fall on the low end of the priority list with Funcom. Something to consider, anyway.
If both of you can play on an official server without any issues, then a private server would work because they’re hosted by the same company, G-Portal. You can use the G-Portal app on your Xbox, but I’d recommend using the app on your PC. Keep in mind that you need to use the app. If you just go to the G-Portal website and rent a server, that’ll be for the PC version of the game and won’t work with your Xbox.
After you’ve used the G-Portal app to rent the server, you can select “Server Options” and then “More Options” which will redirect you to their website, and where you can configure your server’s settings (i.e.: PvE or PvP, the purge, etc.) This is why I recommend using their app on the PC, because using the Xbox browser is a sanity-testing experience that I wish on no one.
One last tip if you go the server route. Name it something unique that will be easy for you and your wife to find the first time. You’ll need to use the server selection UI and then filter by name to find it. Once you do, add it to favorites and then you should be able to connect using the password you’ve created for the server.
We did at the time of my first post, haven’t tried lately, I figured everyone was off for holiday. We have an Xbox one and an Xbox one S, playing on single player co-op.
Thanks for responding and happy holidays.
