From Exiled Lands to Siptah

Having played Exiled Lands since launch, I never saw the appeal in starting from scratch with Siptah. I’ve put 1000’s of hours into PVE and PVP despite the bugs and issues. Two months ago I logged in and every thrall was gone. All of them. Wights, Monstrosities, Skeletons and an many other irreplaceable pets. Logs stated I hadn’t logged in for too long and all thralls were deleted. Which was curious as I’d only been on the previous days. So I said eff it and bounced over to Siptah and what I found was surprising.

The graphical issues I’d experienced on the Exiled Lands were gone. The ground blurring near bases? Gone. The skin rendering issues where items lose detail? Gone. Distance rendering issues? Gone. Items turning black as they render in? Gone. Game blue screening every hour? Gone.

Now that isn’t saying Siptah doesn’t have its own bugs, it certainly does, but nothing like the issues I’ve been reporting on EL for the last couple of years. The last hotfix addressed the server disconnect issue, but the thralls are still falling into the ground. But the overall experience has been enjoyable.

It’s really surprising that so many of the issues that plague the EL are gone on Siptah. Smaller map, maybe? Better coding?

I love Siptah. Something about the place sooths my soul.
