Bug Description:
German word of “Fuchs” (“fox” in English) is considered as an offensive/forbidden word in Conan Exiles for now.
Bug Reproduction:
It is no longer possible to use the German word for “fox” (Fuchs) in the name bar of thralls, pets, and mounts in Conan Exiles. So you can no longer rename the pet Grey Fox in the German language to “Beharion’s Grey Fox” (Beharions Graufuchs) and also you can no longer rename a horse to a “Chestnut Stallion” (Fuchshengst), a common horse color that is visually implemented in Conan Exiles (see screenshots).
It’s probably just a mistake, i think FC uses google translate.
I as a german myself, have noticed that the locations a teleporter is placed in aren’t correctly labeled.
The grammar in most cases is slightly off…
I can tell they don’t have any actual germans in their team, nor did they consult a german to proofread this stuff for them.
And this is what happens when we leave censorship to the AI.
In a game that features taking slaves and dismembering randos for their loot, we can’t have a word that has too many letters in common with a naughty word in a different language…
Yup. You can imagine how impressed the residents of Sc.un.th.or.pe were when they discovered they could no longer type the name of their home town without getting censored…
(And I can’t even post this with the town name intact…)
I swear, sometimes it feels like Funcom never learns the right lesson from anything, whether it be from their own mistakes or a lesson that has been around for-fuсking-ever.
