Funcom.. plz. After pet update, fix the game.. Don't rush into sorcery

The only wisdom I can share on priorities is this:
Fix first what players are exposed to the most, for one misses not a luxury unknown.

There comes a time when delays turn into legend.

I understand that in the heat of development, all hands on deck orders are needed, which means everything else is put on hold to focus on a particular system to “get it over with” in a good and timely manner.

So please. After that system has been gotten over with… Fix the actual game please. You know, the feature sets that are actually fundamental to this game. Not Sorcery, not mounts… at least not yet. But things like purges, foundation spamming, mod automation, splitting TestLive into a seperate game parallel accessible to the base game… the list goes on.

Only after the foundations have been repaired, should a fourth floor be added.

As much as I love Sorcery… if I still have to stay online from 18:00 - 22:00 for purges 6 months down the line for a purge that will rarely happen, I won’t be able to take this anymore.

Already been exausted the team making new content is not the same fixing bugs. Why do I even bother.

Because you failed to realize that a sorcery system is not just an art asset or DLC.

It was mentioned in both Joel’s Firespark interview and today’s Livestream, that fixes are being baked into the upcoming updates, but I can definitely see what you mean, as I want for the same. The game is great and has a lot to offer, but needs more polish (although it has gotten better).

My personal wish list would be an AI Overhaul for NPC’s so that they do their correct duties and add slightly more functionality. That task would be considered bug fixing on an order big enough to account for a major patch. I know Funcom’s team needs to keep all branches busy, so the art team could work on more character customization at creation. The latter is simple but would add a great level of polish when packaged with the former.

Via Firespark’s interview with Joel, 1 coder is working on pets. All of their other coders are assigned to fixing and working on improving the stability of the game via bug patching. I imagine they will maintain this system, as indicated by Joel, going forward. That said, both in Joel’s interview, and Funcom’s presentation to their investors just a couple of days ago, they both stated the importance of improving the stability of the game and fixing bugs. Joel said specifically that they slowed down their patches to provide better patches with fewer issues. Funcoms presentation said that the stability of the game they felt was not where it needed to be and that they needed to improve on it for the sake of the health of the game’s population (current, new, and former players coming back).

That’s curious, because my friend Daria sent Funcom an E-mail about the foundation spamm issue and Funcom wrote back to her that they are aware of the issue and have been working on foundation changes, but that the efforts on that have been put on hold to focus on the pet system.

I’m getting 2 conflicting reports here.

When did they send the E-mail?

Welp, don’t know what to tell you. My source was coming from Joel Bylos, who is the Creative Director for Conan Exiles in a public youtube interview. Your source is an email from a member of Funcom’s tech support or community team who got information down the grapevine. Sent to your friend. So, take that for what you will.

If you want to watch the video, it’s publicly available. I even time stamped it for you where Joel talks about it. Click here for that

Here is the Funcom presentation to their investors I referenced. Click here for that

That would be the siege revamp they have been hinting about. No worries, do whatever they do, griefers will find a way to grief, the best bet is play on a pvp server and smack then out.

Or a private server with rules against it.
