It happens from time to time, it’s not a new issue, but it seems no one cares 
If it happens to me I do the following workaround:
- start the launcher
- unplug the network cable
- start the game from the launcher
- wait until the error message about connecting to the Funcom services appears
- plug the network cable back in and wait some seconds
- click “OK” and retry to connect
- choose server and play
This helps me in most cases, but I cant test it right now (I’m at work).
PS: There is no difference if you use mods or not, or if you use official servers or not. File check or new game installation does also not help, its a connection issue.
