[Game freezing when at my base, freezing when traveling and huge freezes when returning to base or acessing workstations]
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Returning to base
Traveling
Loading new areas
Acessing workstations
Windows 10 (had less freeze when it was 7)
8GB ram (the ram cards are new ones and working well)
Gtx 1060 (had less freeze with 970)
Game Settings on high
Made a test, freezes even on the lowest settings
Had a UE4 fatal error too, but it was only one time
Restarting the PC before playing solves the freezing, but not so much, just reduces the freezing time.
Also, opening the talents tab make the game freeze and then load everything that didn’t after the freeze.
Every new action make the game freeze too, fight a new enemy, freeze, find new area, freeze, and so on.
I played this game before with my old video card and it was fine. It had some freezes, but not huge ones, and at my base it was fine after everything loaded.
After some months i’m back at the game and this is really annoying. The game freezes a lot and i’m with a new and better video card. It is even worse when i come back to my base. I don’t know why, but the game freezes a lot when i return to base, and it don’t freeze that much when i see huge player bases.

My simple advice is to have your task manager running in the background and look for something suspicious when you experience the lag. CPU, GPU, Memory, whatever internet method you use and drive activity under the performance tab.
What kind of hard drive have you installed the game on? We’d recommend a drive with high reading and writing speeds, i.e. SSD, to overcome some of these graphical struggles.
Also, are you experiencing these freezes on another server or single player?
I think it may be related. I don’t have a SSD, but i will buy one.
Hope this solve my problem in the future. But i won’t buy it for now.
And i don’t have these problems on single player yet, but i will try to build something huge and see. I will try another demanding survival game too and see if it is my PC fault.

Being a sandbox game, your mileage may vary wildly depending on which mode or server you’re playing on. Some servers have massive sprawling bases and constructions that take a toll on the streaming of assets when loading an area, so we usually would recommend installing the game on an SSD or equivalent as it helps a lot with this problem. Otherwise, it is common to experience these freezes you reported whenever the reading or writing speeds are bottlenecking the amount of data sent by the server or engine.
Supporting what Candle and Ignasis said. Conan Exiles is the only game I’ve installed on an SSD because it’s the only game where I feel the need for a faster drive. Just about everything else runs fine on my several-years-old HDD.
I used to experience lots of performance issues with Conan Exiles, even on a high-end gaming computer, until I switched the game’s installation files onto an SSD. Now it’s like Aladdin’s Whole New World.
I have the game installed in a ssd and still freezes. I’ve noted that it’s recommended to minimize npcs, lighting, and building structures but honestly I think it has to do with storage as I made a 10x10 2 walls high and ceiling box base to test this with only 4 torches, 2 thralls, and every craft station plus 100 large chests all full and I won’t have a problem when I log in and stay in the box but of I go anywhere (unnamed city) and as soon as I get get back it freezes. Lots of players reported that they freeze up while in inventory with lots of stuff. Too much of a coincidence at this point and most likely something is going on with the game performance being affected drastically when lots of resources are needed to be rendered at once,specially in console but also happens on pc. Might be worth taking a look at it from that route, Im sorry I don’t have the means to send video directly (I do always send error reports though) but it shouldn’t be hard to recreate using the admin panel. Maybe someone in playtest for the dev team can spen 1hr making a 10x10 box and spawn in all the items and fill up the chests with stone like I did. Btw I did this on official server. I play on ps4 1tb 2015 gen using 250mb wired Internet and game’s on a 500gb external ssd. Hope some improvements could be done soon. Thanks
I used to have freezes too.
What worked for me was installing the game on SSD as others have mentioned and upgrading ram from 8GB to 16GB. I reinstalled on SSD first which removed freezes completly. Then I upgraded RAM which fixed fps drops. RAM usage while ingame is above 8GB most of the time for me, especially when around huge, huge bases. Sometimes it can go above 10GB.
I also have this problem on PC in Single players mode. When I want to travel on foot the game start freezing every few second when loading in terrain and stuff. Even where I have no bases. I have 16 GB memory.
