Welcome to our community and apologies for the frustration.
There’s a workaround for this issue if you’re experiencing it when playing online. Opening the game in single player and then returning to the main menu and joining an online session would get rid of this issue until the game is restarted.
I had a similar issue last night.
I have two xboxs at home which I use depending on which room I am in at the time.
Initially I had a physical copy of the game but recently bought the digital copy.
I have been playing Co-op with a friend hosting the game.
Initially started the game on Lounge xbox the previous night using the digital licence, no problem.
Last night started playing on the Backroom xbox in the same co-op game, no problem.
I had to move to the Lounge xbox latter that night so I exited the game using the menues, and closed down the xbox. When I logged in to the Lounge xbox I could get into the game again but it only lasted about 10 minutes before the screen blanked and it dropped me to dashboard.
I was still online in party chat with the group playing with so tried a couple more times. Attempted to join their game through accepting a game invite, and tried to ‘join party game’.
Each time it got part way through the loading screens (after saying attempting to connect to game) then dropped back to dashboard.
I tried a reset of the xbox to no avail.
I also tried going to my single player / offline game and that loaded up without any issues.
When I backed out of that game to the main menu and accepted their game invite the same dropout to dashboard happened.
My NAT is open and have a good internet connection.
I did jink it by saying that the game was better than 7 days to die because it didn’t crash, about a half hour before it crashed.
As stated this has been an issue for as long as the game has been out. It seems there is no way to fix the issue and over a uear later we still have to use the work around of loading into single player offline then rejoining your intended server.
As an update to this, we played three sessions of the co-op game over the weekend and had no drop out issues.
If I see this happen again I will try the single player load suggestion ( which didn’t work last time) and if that fails then get the host to restart the session.
Off topic. we are seeing the odd desync issue, teleporting creatures, standing dead bodies, opponent health bars and hit markers not showing.
Overall enjoying the game. Well done Funcom.
