Get rid of the max ping allowance on official

If you can’t host a server that doesn’t inflate its ping by 400 during prime time, then you need to remove this restriction so people can play on their servers. This has been a problem for YEARS, and you clearly don’t know how to fix it, or you just don’t care, so at the very least you can stop punishing the people that want to play your game.

+1, I’ve changed my Steam review to Negative until they fix it. Let’s make them notice players are not happy.

I’m wondering if CE uses the same hybrid P2P network that Destiny 2 uses. Because this lag is atrocious and gets worse the more players that log into a server (from what I’m hearing).

It started hitting the ping limit around 27/40, and it has gotten worse over time, so the server is certainly filling up more. I don’t risk logging out because you never know if you will be able to get back in, and this is one of the more popular pvp servers, so you can’t really miss raid times unless you want to lose your stuff. The solution is basically logging in early and staying connected all day. That isn’t feasible for everyone.

Just some data points from today as I was online most of the day and keeping tabs on it.

Logged in early, not many people on, ping was fine, gameplay was fine.

Around mid-day there waere 27 people on and ping was slightly higher and gameplay was only slightly affected.

At 6pm with only 17 people online it was basically unplayable with lag and teleporting/rubberbanding like crazy. Which only got worse as more people continued to log in.

After that I don’t know as I camped. I do know if I log in very early, just before server reset, everything will be fine. My completely uneducated guess is this seems to be some combination of time, plus number of people online plus some degradation of the Internet service itself during prime time. Not that there can’t be other things as well.

I don’t really think getting rid of max ping allowance is actually a fix here because the Ping Max of 200 is the point where we “allgedly” start experiencing more and more lag, rubberbanding, not being able to open chests or doors (for a while at least), and finally many of us start get disconnected out of the game.

In my opinion, they need to rollback to UE4 until they can come up with a fix for the UE5 “ping” problem. Because right now in Texas it’s 1145 pm, and all but two PvE - Conflict servers in America (near where I am in) has Pings between 262 to 627 making them unplayable for many of us.

I do think Funcom should work with GPortal to give players on official an idea of what data hub the specific Official server is based of off. Kind of like how private servers can choose a hub closer to there actual location. For me, it would be Dallas and an opportunity to make new clanmates.

I have to ask, have you ever played on a high pi

ng server?

I love clicking E to open a door and

It opens.

Or been fighting an enemy. swing and

he’s over there now.

There is a reason no one wants to play on a high ping server.
