Give us Age of Conan 2

I dont think you understand what he meant by farming mobs.
If the actual lvling experience was fun, and not the boring mess it is, then no doubt that people wouldnt powerlevel (except those that already have 12+ chars).

Neither RF or WB are any good to the game, a good example being WoW. LFG and LFR greatly hurt the game. LFG a bit more tolerable since dungeons do die on low and mid lvls, but LFR?

No.
The problem with east and west side players are the same.
It is the “easy loot”, easy to wait, easy to kill, easy to get. This is the dead of every Massive Multiplayer Role Playing Game. Where the “Multiplayer” title ends. And this is grind, grind for the easy loot, does not matter it ruins the game, it is boring, it is frustrating, it is time consuming, players do, because players do not want to gather in group, and do something different.
Every MMO out there suffer about this. It started with WoW, they cried how hard it is, they get the easy loot rain. Now what they do? Restart the Vanilla server. Players are spitting on their own face. Gratz!
Look at BDO. Killing trillions of mobs “alone” for one level up. Besides that, gathering from dusk till down. Mindeless grind fest. Like a voluntary slavery! BNS almost the same. Solo daily quests, daily group quests for dungeons, just sit in the dungeon lobby and wait until the group fills up.

The problem is, there is no “Real Multiplayer” force, path, way in the games, except dungeons and raids, but here comes the “finder” where you do not need to know the other players, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride for the “easy loot” at the end, 1000 times

So the “Social Multiplayer” part of the MMO is dead!

The leveling process is solo, the daily quests is solo, gathering the resources is solo, crafting is solo, discovering the world is solo, doing achievement points is solo. 70-90% of a today MMO is made around solo content! This calls Single Online Role Playing Game, with a little bit of group play. I do not know why they call it Massive and Multiplayer

This is not about Age of Conan problems, it is everywhere, in every MMO, because the devs just copied each others ideas.

Lol, NO. Its not better. Wow has better textures, better shadows, better SSAO, better water and textures.
Aoc has 256x256 textures, uses only less 4 gb ram (no 64bit), has fake deferred rendering with pre baked shadows that are not dynamic, only static, godrays are prerendered and fake, ssao from 2008 year, no HBAO+ and etc.
Aoc has great mocap animations, models (armor and weapons), good reflections on armor and artstyle. But thats all. Aoc is VERY outdated game. Yes, it can compete in some cases but it need total REMASTER.
like 1k texures, 64bit client, dx11-12 support, HBAO, dynamic shadows, procedural sun, 3d clouds and etc.

totally agree with you. It started with wow and now every mmo has LFG system and it ruins the socialization. But besides that there are one more thing that hits harder then LFG - cross-server. Wow has crosserver realms, so you can meet people from other servers but u cant trade with them or invite to guild. Also if you are not in party with them soon they will disappear and u wont meet em again. So u play with totally random guys, and u cant interact wit hthem, like BOTS. Actual WoW is like singleplayer game with AI plyed NPCs.

Blizzard improved the graphics for World of Warcraft

Under Graphics Options for WoW Classic, change it to the highest settings. At about 3 it looks like the original, but those are not the fully improved graphics. When you change the setting to 10, that is the modern WoW graphics being applied to the ‘vanilla’ game.

Consider that Funcom projects developing a new game at 2-years. I would prefer to play a modern version of Age of Conan released WITH NEW CONTENT.

A “graphics revamp” should be a new game, because the existing instance framework is obsolete (that is why there are no flying mounts). It’s possible to only improve visuals, but these and other improvements are more like developing a new game.

New games are expensive, but a “revamp project” has the potential to save on investment. AoC is an existing game with an inherent creative value; combat system, story line, art & design, with existing infrastructure and
 licensing agreements.

Here is something interesting
Modders Using AI Tools to Update Old Graphics

The only new content we are ever going to get is what the community makes

With or without new framework, they wont add flying mounts. They already explained it many times over why. Just because YOU want them, it wint bring them to the game.

Nor will they remake the mmo for AoC 2. I doubt any developer would want to remake a game like this, just because a small minority of players think the game is too old

are anyone tried to somehow upscale textures in aoc? are this even possible? or game reverts it back? i think with some AI algoritm like ESRGAN we can upscale aoc a bit?

There was a mod for it. Look around

where? didnt found any

Honestly we don’t need a AoC 2, we only need a Age of Conan Remastered, which alot of games have done recently to bring back hype. Dedicate a medium sized dev team to upgrade all the assets and graphics in general and add quality of life improvements across the board, make a kick ■■■ cinematic trailer and gameplay trailer highlighting the insanely new and beautiful graphics and show what happened after the Rise of the Godslayer expansion, because that’s in my opinion when Age of Conan became a truly great game which people are missing out on.

Remaster would be great

Remaster and proper optimisation. This game works so bad at times despite good rig

Remaster AoC on ue4 using assets from Cinan Exiles with f2p model and content packs like TESo.

Remaster would be good.

But Funcom needs to take the work out of their games. A game should not be work.
1 to 4 people shouldn’t have to take on a classroom size of people in a 24 man raid and have to deal with lag issue.

If they Remaster AOC, can you get the DEV’s and CEO of Funcom to understand grinding work drives off people? An when other go to bed, some people are left without anything to do. Who wants to pay for that
I know we did, but new people, who are roaming looking for things, or need help in Valley at level 30 killing elite mobs and nobody is there
you might as well say goodbye. This is the biggest issue funcom has. Plus you have veteran or other who worked hard hate when Funcom makes it easier for others or just gives it to them. If a Vet wants to protect what they paid for
I wouldn’t complain, I’d be suggesting. Because surely aren’t teaching or taking in new heads.

I feel the same. I love Funcom and their games. I played all of them for a crazy amount of time. I really hope I will live to see the day that Funcom make a MMORPG again. If they made Age of Conan 2 they would totally crush it. The marked is totally void of new MMOs these days and there are millions of players waiting for someone to make a new, good MMORPG. All they have to do is to make a game following the original Age of Conan plan, improve combat a bit, make a better crafting system, player housing, and they would have the best game in the world.

Younger generations aren’t interested in MMOs like older ones are. They weren’t taught that in order to play the game, you have to grind feverishly for a artificial sense of accomplishment and progression. They prefer games they can sit down, instantly play with friends, and save progression for real life.

There is no market for MMORPGs because they suck.

Myself I never understood why people even begin to play “RPG” game and be surprised when there is “Artificial sense of accomplishment / progression”

Is the game in the wrong here, or the person that plays it?

God I hate when I play Skyrim and I have to level a character instead of being able to swipe a credit card to skip leveling and story to get to the end game.

MOBA and batle royales suck not mmos

I think there still is a market for MMO’s. They are doing great in Asia. New World comes out this year, Riot Games is making a MMO. Ashes of Creation. Archeage 2. There are a few coming up. I think MMO’s will never die.
