Tell me, has anyone else noticed that regular NPCs dont wield either the two-handed Great Axes or Short Swords in combat since their inception? Or if they do then I am yet to notice. And even more importantly…they should wield them! Having been playing for over a year and a half now, I have become fairly adept at reading weapon attacks. If we did implement them, it could present some additional challenge, as we would need to learn to read them also. Although our PvPers have likely had some practice already. Would anyone else care to see regular enemy NPCs equipped with these two weapons in battle…?
There isnt even a single legendary based on this 2 weapon types either…
Maybe next year we will see more, as Funcom was busy with DLCs and mounts + thrall/pet leveling.
Those weapons just came into the game 2 updates ago so funcom is still fiddling with how they want them weapons to function
I hope so Jot. I just like the idea of more enemy variety when we do battle. But aye, I do understand with them being hard at work on Mounts, Thrall levelling and the like. Hopefully someday in the near future.
there is one legendary 2h great axe from the wine cellar dungeon. It’s called the scythe? i’m not sure, it was 72 dmg 0% i think.
I have never seen anybody use those weapons, never. Just 1 or 2 days when they came out and thats it
Most people don’t use them as the don’t have any effects on them yet
I would use it… but I have predatory blade and shank daggers. So it’s a harsh downgrade and removes 50% of my clear speed.
Thrall has SoC so that can’t be changed up much without losing killing power.
I do like the weapon though.
Ah, yeah… Thats the one I am still missing… This RNG in this dungeon is driving me insane. Only got 1 weapon (mace) and I have 380 Khari steel…
Well, they likely don’t wield the great axe because it’s silly.
For the short swords, I got nothing. I actally like them.
Those axes though…
But thats a Scythe not a Greataxe. I know what you mean that they use the same animations (kind of like a spear vs pike thing) but they should be regarded differently I feel. Just my opinion though.
I am hoping for some soon myself. And also some npcs to wield them for the sake of some more variety in opponents and combat.
Im with you Tempestorm. I actually quite like the Short Swords and their animations; they are nimble and interesting. But like yourself I cant say I like the Greataxe animations very much. The spinning animation on the heavy attacks is dull and difficult to cancel. But even more so, its light and heavy attacks just dont chain together into seemless combinations.
Thankfully I have Emberlight, so I have great axes that use the two handed hammer animations. Not ideal, but it works better than what we got from the official ones in my opinion.
Lucky devil, what I wouldnt give for some of the mods this game has for the console version.
