I’ve been doing vaults after 2.3 patch hit. Overall, the difficulty adjustment to level 60 seems reasonable…except for the the 2 harpy vaults. Their range feather volley attack takes half of my health away, and I am level 60 with epic T4 thrall (1000+) armor and 30 vit. Falling on to a group of them is an unrecoverable situation. They seriously need a nerf. IMO they are not even supposed to be the hardest vaults, that would be the serpent ones, right? If it’s too hard for me, and I am fully geared, I can’t imagine what this would be like with a fresh level 60. Thanks for listening.
Agrred. Did the Jhil and died multiple times, with one of the harpies knocking me down from the bridge in the beginning to my death. You can’t roll away from them as their range attack depletes your stamina, same with blocking while losing half of your health. That dungeon is fudged
The only thing you’ll get face tanking bosses in Conan Exiles is a fast travel to your bed roll.
The game is fine. Players asked for an increase in difficulty. I see no problem in that video.
I cant judge if he is op for single player, but the player played quite badly here, no attacks when the boss recovers from an attack, no healing potions…
With my friend In 2 we killed him like around 3 weeks ago and it was really fun, finally something challenging
The player in that video is me and I recorded it specifically so that I could report the broken stamina drain to Funcom so they could, if that’s not intended behavior, maybe fix it.
I wasn’t actually trying to fight it.
If you want a challenge you should go do the harpy vault above violet lake. A lot of the harpies in there hit that hard.
Ah i see sorry i tought you are showing the video to show its so hard to beat.
we did that harpy vault.
Yeah the stamina effect was brutal here but in 2 its doable.
My purge thrall told me the boss was a joke. I took his word for it, since i was only watching from a distance.
Its funny but at the same time it shows a problem in the game: how many times will you laugh before you get bored?Thralls imho should be help, not main combatatns
You know reminding myself about the harpy vault and that bird monster: I think the stamina debuff was a bit much, but the main thing for me was there was very little time between the “warning” animation to the attack, so its extremely hard to dodge it. I think brutal attacks like this are good, but at the same time with proper knowledge you should be able to evade them.
What makes me think that it’s not intentional is that prior to 2.2 there weren’t any stamina debuffs from blocking. When that patch was on testlive at the beginning there was a bug with pre-patch shields where they had much larger stamina debuffs than intended and still allowed health to be lost. This behavior reminded me of that. Also, I haven’t come across any other boss that hits that hard. Maybe the arena champion does based on what I’ve heard about that boss, having never fought it myself.
You’re right about needing a better telegraph if it’s intended.
It is as Conan would have done.
“Conan, what is best in life?”
“Standing back and watching my thrall do all the work.”
Even though bows are vastly underpowered right now, they are still functional. You can get quite a few shots into their legs to slow them down.
I just wanna point out that using a sword, or hammer, or bow is gonna have pros and cons vs different mobs. I bet with a bow, or orbs, or even just letting your thrall do the work while you shot a couple healing arrows you would have an easier time. Or maybe if you just hold up a shield, while your thrall does all the damage. (And yes) Falling into a group of 3 end game mobs SHOULD wreck you pretty quick. That’s why we try to avoid it. I would settle for a little bit of “nerf” but too much of that really leaves the game dry and repetitive. Pulling, traps, orb combinations (with arrows) can all do wonders and are pretty affordable if you use them sparingly.
