🚨 has funcom given up on conan exiles? — we deserve answers

I’ve been playing Conan Exiles for years… thousands of hours. And it honestly feels like Funcom has given up on a game that still has massive potential. Conan is a great product, but it’s treated like an afterthought while millions were invested into Dune, which didn’t retain players the way Conan still could.

Most of us didn’t leave Conan — Conan left US.

:warning: Why It Feels Like They Gave Up

• No real content in over a YEAR — despite promising a new Age every 6 months. That promise was broken without explanation.

• They’re calling this the “Age of Bugs”… yet they don’t fix any of the REAL ones.

• The best thing they’ve done all year?

➤ They gave console players the player list back — which isn’t even new content. It’s just fixing a mistake THEY made.

• Updates focus on things nobody asked for:

➤ A compass — when we already have a map.

➤ Fixing Dregs audio — while game-breaking lag and exploits go unfixed.

➤ Easy cosmetic fixes… instead of addressing major problems.

It feels like every update takes away something fun or tweaks things that NOBODY requested.

:warning: The REAL Problems They Ignore

• You can’t report players anymore. Zendesk is gone. In-game tickets go unanswered.

• Cheating is at an all-time high:

  • Lag switching

  • Skybases & meshes everywhere

  • Teleport / double-jump glitch

  • Ping manipulation to gain advantage

  • L2 overhead attack spam — even accidental

• Invincible barkeepers can block entrances and hold items with zero damage.

• Buccaneer Bay thralls are too easy to knock out — no challenge left.

• Servers are horrendously laggy, especially on console.

• Boosted servers get ZERO support — no tools for admins to actually enforce anything.

:warning: Even The FORUMS Feel Abandoned

Threads from years ago are mixed with current ones. Nothing is organized or archived. It’s confusing, outdated, and hard to find real info.

If even the forums feel abandoned… what does that say about the game?

:warning: What Conan NEEDS to Survive

:check_mark: Stronger admin tools — map view, player list, cheat detection

:check_mark: Anti-mesh & anti-skybase protection that works

:check_mark: Auto-kick for dangerous ping / lag manipulation

:check_mark: Proper report system restored

:check_mark: Fix invincible barkeepers

:check_mark: Fix L2 attack spam

:check_mark: Clean forums — separate current info from old posts

:check_mark: Real console & boosted server support

:check_mark: NEW AGES — honor the 6-month promise

:warning: COMMUNITY CALL TO ACTION

Funcom — if you still care about this game… prove it.

We are still here. Hosting servers. Buying DLC. Keeping Conan alive.

:warning: If you’ve run into bugs, exploits, lag, ignored reports — REPLY BELOW.

Let’s build a real list together and get eyes on this.

Maybe then — they’ll finally listen.

:dagger: Conan deserves better. And so do we. :shield:

Funcom… we’re still here. Are you?

I hate to say it but you are way late. My opinion funcom started losing interest in Conan when tencent bought in.

When funcom gave up on the battle pass, they gave up on Conan exiles. And there is no one here but us.

I had my own “is anyone alive” spam campaing. Three weeks taged funcom staff. Send 34 PMs to @dev and those Funcom members who had some activity in forum. And some Discord PMs to Funcom people there.

No reply. No view. Nothing.

Just like they said they were going to do in the Producer’s letter and much of the community asked for.

It was never a “promise,” it was a plan. And it changed multiple times.

They don’t call it that, the community does.

According to your priority list.

In other words, they fixed a bug.

…followed by a list of things people asked for.

They moved to Helpshift.

Not really a cheat, it is a desync, and there is no easy fix.

When every other topic is created by AI, like this one was, it does lend that feeling…

Like this and this?

I do not object to any of your suggestions, only your premises.

I appreciate you answering the reporting part, I really do — I just wish it was easier to find. There’s a “Help” button in-game where you type in your email, and all it does is send you an empty email with no instructions. No ticket system, no direction, nothing that actually helps when the game is broken. For a game with this many issues, reporting shouldn’t feel like a scavenger hunt.

And honestly, it just feels like everything they’re doing right now doesn’t work. The community calls it the Age of Bugs for a reason — because none of the major issues are actually getting fixed. We were supposed to get meaningful improvements, but instead we got the Age of Trash. All players want is a fair, stable game where throwing one bomb doesn’t freeze an entire fight.

But instead of focusing on the things that actually matter, we get updates nobody asked for. Fixing Dregs audio. Adding a new compass :joy_cat:. Nobody needed that — we already have a map. Meanwhile lag, desync, rubber banding, broken rendering, and game-breaking exploits are still here like always.

And yeah, PvE players are a little happier, but let’s be honest: Funcom actually gives them things — Bazaar cosmetics, paid packs, all the monetized stuff. That’s why PvE players feel “fine”: they’re getting new toys, and they don’t deal with the performance issues the same way PvP players do. Meanwhile the PvP community gets ignored completely.

Even the forums feel abandoned. Threads from years ago get mixed with current ones, nothing is organized, and it just adds to the sense that nothing is being maintained anymore.

And about the “AI-written” comment — AI or not, everything I said is still true. The issues don’t magically disappear just because the writing is cleaner. The community has been calling this stuff out for years. It doesn’t matter how the message is written — what matters is what’s actually happening in the game. Lag, exploits, crashes, desync, ignored reports… that’s the reality. Trying to dismiss feedback because of the writing style doesn’t change the facts.

At the end of the day, if Funcom was actually focusing on what the community wants, we wouldn’t be watching almost the entire playerbase quit. The truth is the truth — no matter how it’s written.

People are lag switching on purpose, and pretending it’s “not really a cheat” just shows you’ve clearly never played actual PvP on Conan. PvE players don’t deal with this stuff — PvP players do, every single day.

Lag switching isn’t just “desync.” Here’s what it actually is:

Lag switching is when a player intentionally disrupts or chokes their own internet connection for a moment. When they do that, the server still receives their actions late or in bursts, but everyone else freezes, rubber bands, or slows down on their screen. Meanwhile, the lag switcher keeps moving normally.

This gives them free kills because:

• Everyone around them gets stuck or rubber bands

• They can move, roll, swing, and position with no delay

• They hit you multiple times while you’re frozen

• Then when their connection “unclogs,” all their hits process at once

• You take all the damage instantly and usually die before you can react

That’s not “normal desync.”

That’s not “server lag.”

That’s intentional forced lag used for advantage — which is literally the definition of cheating.

Anyone who has actually played PvP servers knows exactly what this looks like. You’ll be mid-fight, everything is smooth, and suddenly the entire world freezes except one guy who’s still moving and attacking perfectly. Then the server catches up and you magically take a full combo of damage instantly.

So trying to downplay it or pretend it isn’t cheating just shows you aren’t speaking from PvP experience at all.

And saying “there’s no easy fix” isn’t an excuse to ignore it. Funcom spent millions on Dune — a game that completely flopped — but somehow can’t put real time into fixing issues that have been ruining PvP here for years.

Ignoring it doesn’t make it any less real. It just proves the point that the players have been making all along.

Tephra funcom does not deserve you. But you really need to quit carrying water for them.

You care more about the game then they do, and they certainly do not care about you. I think your loyalty and energies would be better spent on a more deserving game.

I’d be happy if I could log in. Server issues are terrible for the last few months. It’s so bad I think it’s easy to think it is a deliberate effort to kill off the game.

Or Funcom is too much in Dune lore at the moment and after Rabban had handled servers for a while, Baron Tenced can give us messiah Feyd-Rautha bring the production back online.

Funcom does not care what anybody here has to say to them about anything.

I know a bit crazy considering they have lost about 90% of their peak base :joy_cat:

Sad, but true. I’ve been playing since the game first came out. All PvP servers, they have definitely gave up on us :joy_cat: a person can only hope.

They sent everyone to Dune to make that game a hit.
And the best part? THAT FAILED TOO!
lol pure incompetent team.

To be fair, Dune was pretty good in PvE while leveling. Good missions, good combat, descent rewards, nice base building However, they relied on PvP to carry the endgame and repetitious grind, similar to Conan Exiles, and didn’t really plan a good endgame to keep their large PvE player base interested. What they had was mostly good, but they didn’t take it far enough and harshly punished players for not logging in to keep their bases refreshed; and people weren’t incentivized to do that grind or stay engaged for PvP. It wasn’t the endgame most people were looking for.

From where I’m sitting, watching FC make the same dumb mistakes and disregarding their players for the past 17 years and learning nothing… it’s definitely starting to feel that way.

You couldn’t pay me to play this game on an official server, PVE or PVP. For many of us, mods are the only reason to keep playing this game. When FC and TC make it no longer viable (or possible) for modders to do their thing, it’s over. And it feels suspiciously like that day is coming.
