Have the Accursed been buffed?

I got to play Conan Exiles today on the Isle of Siptah, and I noticed that the Accursed there seem to have had their defenses seriously buffed. I am doing a third of the damage in Chapter 4 that I was in Chapter 3. Has anyone else noticed this added tankiness?

Judging by the Xevyr table, the protection indicators have not changed.

I haven’t tested, but have seen a report from someone else making the exact same point with regard to Cimmerians on the Exiled Lands. Has Xevyr had time to update the table? (Probably already has, since he’s pretty darn quick off the mark - already built a fix for the stack-splitting issue
)

Yes, I noticed this too. It feels as if they take a lot less damage than they used to.

I haven’t had much time to experiment yet, so I don’t know whether it’s just the Accursed, or whether it’s me doing less damage than I used to, but I just happened to run into some Accursed and immediately felt like something wasn’t like it used to be.

I usually do around 150 damage with my axe, but against the Accursed I was doing around 50. One of my friends who was using a similar axe (but without sunder like mine) was doing only 20 points. Normally we could kill an Accursed in 3 or 4 blows. Now it takes 8 or nine.

The same with cimmerians at Mounds of the Dead. T1 fighters used to die with two heavy hits from my great axe (full strength build). Now they are taking 6-8 hits.

Just imagine if the old Purge was still active and you got hit by Cimmerians
oh my.

Wait until you get hit by the enemies in the volcano.

As for the reduced damage to the Cimmerians, that’s correct, because they have enhanced armor.
But the rest doesn’t add up.
How could you kill Cimmerians, who have 420-450 hp, in 3-4 hits with an ax that deals 50 damage? Just 8-9 hits will do it.

Sorry for being unclear. In the past, my axe did around 100-150 damage to Accursed/Cimmerians, which means I could kill one in 3 or 4 hits. Now, I only do around 50, so it takes 8 hits or so. My axe gives a stack of Sunder every time it hits, so my friend with an axe with similar damage (but no Sunder) was only doing 20-25 damage.

Ah, then everything is correct.
But you are a tough warrior, since you dealt 100-150 damage to the Cimmerians. To others, with weak armor, then you could inflict up to 300-350 in one blow!

Yes, I just noticed the same thing. They are taking too many hits compared to stygians/black corsairs, like they have 75% damage reduction or something. It is even more baffling when you compare some topless T1 accursed fighter who is much more tanky, than fully armored stygian warrior. I can understand that they can ‘cushion’ a blow with those things, but come on

I think what is happening here is for NPCs to drop what they appear to be wearing, they pretty much are wearing it. Cimmerans heavy armor is pretty gnarly stuff compared to what other NPCs wear, so that would account for their high damage reduction.

Got to break out the hammers and crack those nuts.

There seem to have been a change in stats of weapons if nothing else. As I was comparing crafting weapons on DLC types, I noticed that some bonuses and stats have vanished, and others have been changed too.

That’s only visual on NPCs, they’re not actually wearing anything.

Their armor comes from their stat definitions
and the spreadsheet I have seems accurate :man_shrugging: The armor values also don’t appear to have been changed since Chapter 3.

So the damage difference most likely is coming from somewhere else.

I played on Siptah yesterday and did normal damage to undead and animals
and when I came across a T2 Accursed
I lost 2 T3 Accursed thralls of mine, and had to run
Something isn’t right. Plain and simple

Additionally
The truncheon damage did not change at all
I could knock them all out, but it took several minutes, potions, dodges, stab and run away, stacking bleeds to kill one

The nominal damage of a weapon is not the damage you do.
There are the “unholy trinity” mitigation-avoidance-blocking which changes the damage, and plus diminishing returns.

One of the main means of mitigation is penetration, which seems to have been removed as a blanket stat. Other means of the unholy trinity seem to have been changed from armor and weapons across the board too.

Does this all mean that the endgame zone has finally become the endgame zone?

Good, there should be progression from the easiest biome being noob river to the harderst being the volcano.
The same should be done with resource nodes, want better tier gear, you must live in a more dangerous area, and to live there you simply must have a better gear.
Then finally sort out the weather the same way, there are great possibilities in UE4, yet in Conan weather is just a decoration. Harder biomes should have harsher weather forcing players to craft insulated outfits.

LOL! negated by warmakers/wine cellar dungeons. These dungeons are the reason why i live so close to Sep and NOT the volcano. I currently am not farming nodes as i get complete perfected armor padding, and assorted metal bars in addition to the highest xp in the game for my thralls.
