Have the Accursed been buffed?

I also live just at the gates of Meru  On top of that farming one purge keeps me going for another week. Is anybody cooking anything with these new drop rates where food and drink is everywhere and it’s easier to kill an NPC than cook?

Also something has been done with the purge.
Before the update it kept spawning every time and I could farm it in peace.
Now it most often says that there is no location to spawn, so I trigger it again and it spawns but after several waves says that there is no longer a path to coffer so they have withdrawn
I completely did nothing to my raid base and never do anything but watch when the fight starts.

Seriously? This location worked every time before the update.

Same deal with the purge. Did hundreds of them before the update and never once got either a “no reachable location” or a “no longer a path to the coffer”. Now I am getting them about 50% of the time. WTF

Yeah they made it worse. I am tired of this and I won’t build yet another base just to enjoy the purge. As everyone can see on the screenshot above there are miles of open space around my raid-base, also behind it, where the purges used to spawn before the update.

It’s no longer frustrating it has become tiresome. The old purge always had spawned, even on the roof of your base :joy:
This new thing is garbage by design, they want them to raid your coffer but they don’t want them to cause damage to the base.
The result is just sickening as we can see.
You can’t have sex and still be a virgin Funcom. It’s one way or the other.

Bring back the old purge. It can spawn on my roof I don’t care.
Leave the awkward Stygian purge as a separate thing. Rename it to “Stygian raid” to stop confusion.

I can’t see the Cimmerians/Accursed being anything but a bug. I had a t1 Accursed fighter take out both of my Accursed Berserkers in Silent Legion armour with Feroxic Greatswords and then 1 hit me.
It had taken about 5% damage and that I think was from the poison, physical damage doesn’t seem to do anything. The Jailer stood next to it that I engaged first died normally.
I now can’t get another berserker as I can’t fight my way to where it is. It’s really annoying as trying has lost me all my sigils.

Something has definitely changed about them - was in mounds of the dead - used to pop up to the circle of death (that bit with the 3 fighters and a bearer) and could stand on a wall and lob poison orbs in the middle of the three fighters - now they all run over and stand under you  (they have been given a small amount of intelligence to not stand in gas it seems)

I ran into an Accursed Fighter I on Siptah yesterday. My thralls and I knocked him up against a rock and beat on him for a good minute before he went down.

My friend was fighting some Accursed this morning on Siptah and reported doing 7 damage against them with a legendary axe.

Good times.

Anyone have any more info about these buffed Accursed/Cimmerians?

They’re not buffed at all. As in
they haven’t changed from Chapter 3. They do have decent armor ofc, but they had it for a long time (you can see their non-thrall armor in the last 2 columns of my thrall spreadsheet, that is accurate, I double-checked after these reports)

Based on the number of reports thou, my impression is that it’s some mod that started buffing them with Chapter 4, so let us know what mods you have, would be nice to figure this out lol.

Interesting. I play on the Waknation Unofficial Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah. We use two mods, Pippi and Hosav’s Custom UI. I hope that helps.

I don’t use either of those, and my Accursed feel more durable too.

I mean the NPC AI has been mostly replaced, so naturally there’s going to be differences

However what people have been talking about was sheer raw damage resistance of non-thrall cimmerians you encounter in the wild
as in hitting them with weapons that previously 1-2 shot them suddenly doing like 5 damage to them

Yes, that’s exactly what I mean too. Used to require just the katana heavy opener and one or two slices to kill one, now it takes considerably more hits.

Did you check to see if the weapon you use got changed?

The damage and armor penetration values are still the same. Also, other enemy types still seem to die as they used to, or at least the difference isn’t as significant with them as it is with the Accursed.

That’s weird :man_shrugging: I am not seeing any difference in them, not anything in their stats or code and not anything ingame fighting them
they still die exactly as they did for me.

I’ve also asked others and most also don’t see a change
but then there’s like 20 people who swear they are different
that’s why it seemed plausible that it might be a mod
You now say you don’t use mods thou, which would leave only the weapons  but you also don’t seem to notice a difference on those
 soo yea, quite puzzling

That’s my setup for the Accursed.
It works great, even though I have only 3rd perk in Strength & 0 in Agility.

Indeed. If it was just me, I’d write it down to my own brain malfunctioning, but I started to see these threads at the same time I started wondering about the change in my fighting experience.

I haven’t played very much after the update, but most of that time has been spent fighting various passers-by (due to weekly challenges), and the Accursed have been the only thing that has felt out of the ordinary.

I also suspected that it could’ve been a change in the way weapon combos do damage (as far as I understand, each step of a combo has its own multiplier to the damage number printed on the weapon itself), but that would make sense only if my katana did less damage to everything, which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Yea that was exactly what I was wondering about if their hidden combo stage multipliers have been altered

When I checked their armor I also compared that thou for the mace and those were identical, didn’t bother checking all the other weapons
plus I figured if it was something universal like that people would notice it on all the other NPCs like you say.

Oh well :man_shrugging: eventually we’ll get to the bottom of it lol
