Heading in the wrong direction when it comes to building size and decor

Superb idea!!

So “knowing how to play the game” is playing the game you think it should be played, and playing PVP, and not RPing? Great, I’m sure Funcom will be glad to hear that their primary source of income for the game is not how you are supposed to play it.

Don’t tell me what size base I need or not to build out the T3 items Funcom provides, map room, etc. My base is mostly utilitarian but there are some ornamental elements which contribute perhaps a small percentage to the overall square land claim. It’s mostly what I need to build what is part of the game as I choose to play it and as it was intended to be played.

If you choose to group up with other players that’s fine. That doesn’t change the minimum size needed for building most or all of the crafting stations and map room etc. Not everyone needs to go massively vertical either.

Are you sure it is not client lag rather than server lag? The server seems to load things in in its own sweet time. Some people may be playing on the same computers/consoles as they were when the game first came out. The game as evolved and cosmetic items are a big part of it now, for PVE.

If the entire player base of solos built colosus bases the game js unplayable, if you were around before the great wipe youd understand.

Most pve-c officials are protected by there alpha counter parts now, and will report bases if they are causing issue.

You can say all that but until youre on a server that cant even restart cause there is too much stuff on it, so they wipe it completely.

The same people that cause these issues are the same people consistantly on the forums complaining about bugs and issues.

Thus why many official servers have created mass alliances to protect themselves.

Xbox servers are completely different than pc servers.

It takes alot of foundations to cause any serious form of lag, and I mean alot. Tested this on official.

Theres 3 cosmetic items in the game right now if put to close together can crash a server.

Any moving object causes more lag than anything ( torchs, benchthralls, anything that moves or makes a sound)

Certain things if not seperated can start to cause a crash, beyond that is just a nuke circle around your base for other players…eventually crashing the entire server.

How can you tell if a base is causing an issue with the server and it’s not your computer?

My official PVE server has a ton of huge bases on it and I think they are great! Seen some very creative and beautiful stuff made. If they were deleted wholesale I’d be quitting the game and clamoring for refunds on everything I bought which was sold for the purpose of ornamentation and based on the large builds they show in examples and which are all over the map already.

Performance is fine for me as far as FPS. The server does lag a bit sometimes, how do we know that is from bases and not from purges or something else entirely?

If people are coordinating to mass report, maybe they should be the ones to be all banned and deleted if they report anyone falsely or their report is rejected (or reports are rejected repeatedly).

It starts as minor lag, you dont noticed. Then the server will start crashing more often. The landscape starts rendering funny. Then the 1 hour server resets aside from daily reset. Things start disappearing. Then the server will stop appearing. Then the admins wipe it.

Lately they intervene before this happens. The game is a work in progress. Alot of this castles you see advertised are from single player games or PC.

Xbox has a different load, as well as we dont have alot of the handy dandy mods they do on pc.

Alot of people have left the game over the years because of the wipes. Blaming the devs when honestly it can be prevented.

So the 40 players that report the one player for having 15 large animals pens should be banned? Not the one guy thats causing stability issues?

They should be banned if their reports are repeatedly rejected by Zendesk/Funcom.

I would assume PC and Xbox run on the exact same server code.

Animated things/crafting thralls/things with sounds/whatever which you mentioned as a cause of “lag” would not affect the server at all in any way. It would affect the client. Most of what you are describing sounds like an Xbox One is not fast enough to run the game properly.

But there not rejected. Weve literally watched a moderator destroy these bases before our eyes because they break tos.

They investigate every report.

If no damage is found then nothing is done, its logged as a false report. Eventually they dont even bother with your report if youve made to many false claims.

Keep in mind weve also reached out to these players to inform them of the damage they are doing, try to show them a better and easier way to aquire whatever they are trying to aquire.

Normally results in them telling us to climb up a tree and them getting banned shortly after.

And yes the server coding is completely different otherwise the game would be crossplay.

As ive said the game is a work in progress. The rules are adjusted as the game progresses. Majority of the castles you see today, werent even possible back in 2018

Ive seen where this games come from, and compared to most games out there, the devs of conan exiles deserve a round of applause more than anything.

But you sound like you want to report people (especially solos) just for building one each of the crafting stations and putting thralls at them because that is “not how to play the game”.

If you are doing that or coordinating with other people to do it, it’s probably you who should get a ban. Of course a delete would hardly matter to you if you have no base.

No thats not at all what Im saying.

Im saying no solo needs a 50000 piece base. Go on single player if thats the case.

The officials are shared by other players.

Entitlement is such a disease in this world. 1000’s of gamers have also purchased the game , dlcs and cosmetics. So there must be a median.

Saying that you would request a refund humors me  cause it aint gonna happen, even if you tried to open a legal battle. Read the ToS.

Day by day they fix things, and it would go alot faster if the community would just cooperate.

I could get a refund from my credit card company but of course Steam would be pissed.

A legal battle I’m not so sure about but I don’t have the means or motivation to do that. That said, you can’t just cram things into a ToS to get out of false advertising or merchantability/fitness.

By clamoring for a refund I mean I would do everything I could to draw attention to the fact they advertise something you can’t do.

I have 1500 building pieces across the map (mostly in my main base) and 250 placeables as a solo. Am I allowed to play the game or does your sense of “entitlement” say you should try to coordinate with other players to ruin the game for me?

It’s not flagged Xbox that I can tell.

It says: “[Conan Exiles][General Discussion][Feedback]”

My apologies, it was when I first commented. So Ill withdrawl my later statements.

Most of what Ive said refers to consoles. The PC version of Conan Exiles is far superior, as in all games.

But now I understand why we are butting heads in such a way haha coming from two different worlds here lol

No problem I see what you’re saying now.

Yes my fault, I have very little knowledge on the PC side of conan, I know that you guys have amazing roleplay servers :melting_face:
