My son accidently deleted my character, please tell me there is some way to get it back? I saw one topic that said “only paying customers can retrieve their characters” - is there some way to pay to get it back?!
As far as I know, the only way is if you backed up a save file or something like that. Not sure if you play the online game.
If you play solo offline, best thing to start doing is having a little USB stuck into the system and routinely back up your save files for important games (ie, ones you sink hundreds of hours into)
If you can’t get it back, one option is to use the interactive map online. Supposedly you can just run around hitting points of interest and getting XP for it. Double XP, if that’s still a thing, and you can hit 60 in a couple hours.
Probably the only way to recover at least some status.
Noting what platform you’re on might help a bit too, for example if you’re on PS4, you’re pretty much stuck with starting over, unless the save uploaded to PlayStation Plus’ cloud storage is pre-deletion, and even then it’s only if it’s solo offline.
PC saves backups of your game.db file in the Saved folder. Simply replace your game.db with one of these and see if you get your character back. The game creates only so many backup files, though, so it’s best to make manual backups of these files before you start messing around with them.

if this is for Conan exiles…well others have responded with advice
but if this for Age of Conan and not exiles then I’d suggest both an out of game email to Funcom support and also an ingame petition to get the attention of a Game-master.
They recently altered customer support conditions for Age of Conan and only subscribers can have deleted characters restored.
I’m with @Kwalya on this one - are you sure you’re in the right forums mate? There’s no concept of “paying” vs “non-paying” customers for Conan Exiles.

Well the PS4 platform was just giving the game away for free recently, so there is that, but I agree that it sounds like he’s talking about a different game because that language doesn’t make sense in the context of Conan Exiles.
