“Angel in the Machine”:
If I were to do a randomiser program will all my assets and environments I could probably come up with some really great combinations, lol.
I saw a deviant art image, nothing like this but, of an Angel… advancing purposefully with weapon and so on… this mutated into being.
“Digital Arts Magazine Issue 52 Sept 2020”:
I made the cover of Digital Arts Live Magazine this month, I’m pretty muchio chuffio’d
I got this image and another “Cyber Willis” into the Gallery Booze o’weekend for me!
“City of a Thousand Spires and Dark Desires”:
I bought the Kitbash3D Victorian kit a while ago, just getting around to figuring out how to get it to divide properly and do the grunt work of texturing with normals and so on. It takes a while to export from Blender as DAE then import to DAZ then Iray shader then apply the normals to each building. ZZZZzzzzzz.
This is preperation for later in the Graphic Novel I’m currently doing
“Gaia and the Roses”:
I was asked to do some images for a player from Secret World Legends… sorta SWL themed with Gaia… and the inclusion of roses somehow
“Neo-Kaidan October 2020”:
This is a different version to the prevous Neo-Kaidan image… 11 hour 7 minute render to 8K. I got some sleep Wider aspect ratio, maybe not as good with the fog effects and some of the billboards are set too high in Emission. I had to widen the camera frame with to stop the buildings at the edges from pointing inwards a bit. This threw the previous fog positioning off and I had to re-establish things for the new camera view.
This is also after 2 hours of putting in all the textures for the Kitbash3D NeoShaghai package and then more hours putting the bill billboards onto some of the buildings that I’d converted. I will use in future and make changes where necessary but I’m not re-rendering… for now
Back to the novel, lol.
Only just seen this – many congrats on making the cover!
Thanks, Waspstar, I was and am pretty happy
“Neo City: Kat-Anna Lazy in Rain”:
Kitbash3D are having a contest… made this for my first entry. Based on a graphic novel I started “The Kat-Anna Chronicles” which stalled. I’ll need to go back a fix it up better but, I have most of it. I’ll upgrade and finish it after I’ve recovered from the current graphic novel production
“The Punisher: John Bernthal”:
I used the face gen program in DAZ for this
This image I found was half in shadow so… I copied half of the face over to the other side and then slightly erased the copied half down the forehead, nose and chin. Then I used the patch tool in Photoplop to progressively fix the skin on the chin and the other parts of the cheeks and jaw and then the forehead.
Pretty happy with this, I might go back to the terrible Blade Runner Harrison Ford image and try the same process.
“Neo Kaidan: Splinter in Rain”:
Another entry for the Kitbash3D current contest. The Neo City mini kit is free right down. Download if you are doing 3D, what have you got to lose!
The bar on these images is very high, I’m still having trouble coming close to something passable.
“Princess Irulan Oct 2020”:
I bought the headdress a while ago, just trying it out on my interpretation of Princess Irulan, from the Dune books.
“Cat-Anna: Neo City in Neon Dreams - Kitbash3D Contest Entry”:
This was a whole load of fun to do Lots of masking off and soft light highlighting and I learned a lot trying to do the light trails.
Another entry for the Kitbash3D Neo City contest, Neo City mini kit is free for download right now
What is the difference between 2d and 3d?
3D usually involves the placement of models and assets and lighting them… then taking a rendered image of the scene with a placed camera/viewpoint. 2D you are drawing onto the page/screen so the image is not viewable from any perspective… I think
“Neo City: Cat-Anna Biker”:
Another entry for the Kitbash3dcontest using the Neo City mini kit. If nothing else I’ve learned a few things more about city-sky-line construction
“Elric and the Souls of the Damned 02”:
This is a massive, massive experiment. The Digital Art Live Photoshop Technique tutorial is the inspiration for the Graphic Novel post effects, I just spend the wee hours of the morning and some of this afternoon getting to grips with the concepts.
It involves using the filter gallery, posterize, cut out, dry brush and so on effects… blend modes and a bit of flying around the moon looking for star dust Water colour filters, highlighting and so on.
I’ll see how I go over the next few weeks and maybe start on “The Cat-Anna Chronicles” again with what I learn.
The previous version of this picture was far too clean.
