While I broadly agree with this sentiment, it is worth remembering that no Funcom hotfix ever comes out in the first few days after a patch, it is always a matter of a couple of weeks or more. My suspicion would be that part of this time is the duration of the necessary certification process for consoles (in this case just PS, since XBox certification seems to be taking longer this time around).
This hotfix is more delayed than usual, and addresses fewer issues than usual - your hypothesis that this is because the delay to Dune is an ‘all hands on deck’ situation seems reasonably likely. We do not have to be impressed by the hotfix, and it is not unreasonable to complain about it, within the context of what it is. But much of the complaint about it seems to be noise based on a failure to read or understand the announcements themselves - let alone the misrepresentation of this hotfix as if it is the patch itself (which it clearly was not). THe ‘noise’ is unhelpful as it is something that Funcom will understand as bad faith complaints and therefore rightly ignore - with the result that it obscures the good faith complaints and increases the odds that they too will be ignored.
If we want our complaints to stand a chance of being heeded, then they must be based in truth, and not in misrepresentation. Even moreso than normal given that Funcom is clearly heavily focused on Dune at this point. If we want fixes to continue, then we cannot claim that none have been made - they know that to be untrue. That does not mean that we have to be satisified with what we get, but the legitimate issues cannot be buried under a tide of ranting, or there is little chance that the legitimate issues will ever get addressed.
That is simply untrue on several levels. FIrstly, the patch was six months after the previous update, not three. Secondly, the patch resolved many issues. It may not have resolved the issues you most wanted it to (it didn’t resolve many of the issues I most wanted it to), but that does not mean that it ‘fixed practically nothing’ - perhaps you should go back to the patchnotes for the March update and review the extensive list of fixes that were included.
This is exactly the sort of bad faith claims that are the problem. By making a false claim, you invalidate your own completely valid other concerns - as well as burying more rational complaints under a tide of useless noise. At this point I am forced to wonder if some people are actually trying to ensure that there are fewer fixes in future by giving Funcom every reason to ignore us. I would not have put you in that category, I thought you were being more rational than some - perhaps it is just your frustration talking, in which case maybe you need to take a step back and reconsider your approach.
