i try to stay out of the forums but i would like to ask if there is ANY kind of documentation about what fixes and which issues this patch fixed.
so please @AndyB for us that only visit only these forums , is there anywhere where we can find what issues you addressed with this hotfix please?
Edit: any player having a clue of where can i look at , ur suggestions r welcome
How i found it out? well throwed demon fire orb and it splashed on me and i dont get any damage..

Edit line : also yep like some adviced, pvp is on and pve-c also… Tryed both ways… And because somehow some more tested and they has all fine… i now kinda want to know what changed to me …

Last edit : Spend 6 hours, asked help to others, nothing… Only ‘‘fixed’’ under conan reinstall
But so dunno when or what
its working like
PVE - No damage to player or thrower ( once ago i literally remember i was waiting till orb puts fire off after meteor crack… to not burn alive )
PVE-c : Kills other player, but question under thrower, one time works other time no
PVP - Both dies as it should when stays in fire
Still i have question : WHY on pve player can stay in fire and get no damage??
Wait what?
This is the patch that we’ve been waiting for? The grand result of “rather than adding new content we’ll be focusing on fixing game bugs instead”?
WTF?
Seriously if there’s just one intern working on CE patches, then maybe it’s best to just shut it down.
This is just embarrassing.
Not to mention for each of these 5 fixes, given the track record I expect 10 things (per “fix”) that have been working for years to be broken.
It seems that the people that have been working on the game don’t actually play the game much beyond their involvement with whatever tasks they are assigned. It’s as if they hate or don’t like the game they are working on. There obviously isn’t enough concern or skill on Funcom’s behalf to fix major issues that have been persisting for years.
I seriously hope that’s not the case. So Im trying to atleast figure something out. Im keeping my fingers crossed at the moment. Im sure they will come thru. Hopefully soon.
Since you appear to have an issue comprehending the state of the game, let me spell it out for you in simple terms:
Funcom scrapped their Age content schedule to “focus on bugfixes” and on improving the state of the game.
This latest “fix” hardly fixes anything of consequence (like the massive list of gamebreaking bugs we’ve been living with for years) and the things you can count on one hand that it does “fix” are things that they broke in the last patch.
So literally they’ve accomplished nothing. In fact if you were to tally up the new bugs introduced with every update and compare it to the list of ‘fixes’ you’d see we’re actually moving backwards.
They also scrapped the BattlePass and their in-game reporting system. So at this point some of us are wondering just what on earth it is that they are doing besides milking the last few drops out of people still buying Bazaar content.
Except unlike you I would not conflate an update as being equal with a hotfix. Well, that is, unless I wanted to be deceptive and disingenuous.
Now, had you simply came to the thread and discussed the number of fixes in this hotfix, and the “quality” of fixes included in it, I would probably be agreeing with you. It is pretty damned shameful on their part that this was ALL they could manage, or even the BEST that they could do. But again, when you literally are being openly and deliberately dishonest, and you are knowingly lying in order to make your point sound more credible, your point is lost.
You know, many of us don’t care whether it’s called an update or a hotfix.
Here on the forum is a summary of the bugs in the game - more or less the players have done quite a bit of work for free for FC.
I understand that a lot of these things are deep in the code and hard to get to but on the other hand, remember that a lot of them are instead just a badly entered value with a fix time of less than a minute.
So I don’t understand - me personally - how it is possible that even if only one person worked on it for months, why after a quarter of a year we have only a fix that fixes 4 or 5 things.
The wrong armor value in Cimmerians FC took half a year to fix - one wrong value identified by players. It was enough to overwrite it but no , it took 2 regular updates to fix it.
Sipath players couldn’t stun a faction for over a year , that’s not something a NASA scientist would have to fix either
Horses rush into battle due to misconfigured behavior , they found the problem here on the forum with a description and a solution in a few days
etc
I’m not going to address the disappearance of stunned/dead bodies , thralls falling through the floor , rain under the roof and other things that have been around for years.
No , I’d just like someone from FC to go through the forum because a lot of bugs are described here with solutions and should be easy to fix - often enough just literally rewrite the wrong value
Look at the BP horse armour for example , they have a stamina damage resistance of 0 , normal / DLC have from 0.3 to 0.6 - try taking the BP armour and fighting from the horse - you are dead , with normal you have a chance and you are not down from the horse for 2 hits.
Fun fact - most players, including me, find the game forum because they are interested in the game and want to join the community.
this forum is unique in that 80% of the users are the first to post that there is a bug in the game
While I agree with much of what you are saying, you are also misrepresenting what this hotfix was. We received the main update (with a whole bunch of fixes) only a few weeks ago. This hotfix was explicitly to fix a few issues specific to that update - as was clearly stated when it was announced (the first post in this thread) and when it was subsequently released.
Yes, the main update patch at the end of last month did not fix everything that we might have wanted, and yes some of those fixes that were not included would appear to be as simple as you suggest - there is plenty of room for Funcom to do better. In my view this ‘Age of Bugfixes’ needs to continue until they have made significant improvements to all aspects of the game, and they really need to pick up the pace. (There is a hope that a part of what the time was spent on during the 6 months lead up to the main update was unravelling the deeper problems of the code and trying to build a stronger foundation to work from - this was expressed as an intention, but we have no idea how successful it has been - if it was even truly attempted.)
But that does not change the fact that the hotfix is not the main update. The hotfix is, as it always is, a simple few fixes to some of the newest issues introduced by the main patch - same as happens with every patch cycle - there is always a main patch and then a hotfix a few weeks later. Four fixes may be disappointing even for a hotfix, but there is no point complaining that ‘they spent months on this’ when it is a clear fact that they spent a couple of weeks on it (and much of that was probably certification time) and that is all of the time they were supposed to spend on this hotfix.
I agree - despite the insistence of certain individuals (who claim that players only come to forums to complain) many of us joined for preceisely the reasons you suggest. And that makes it so much worse that many of us are driven to spend so much time complaining because of the state of the game (and community) that we wanted to support. But we do also need to keep those complaints rational and civil, because that is the only chance we have of getting desired results. Anger and frustration are understandable, but arguing on the basis of things that aren’t correct (such as the idea that the four fixes in the hotfix are all there has been from the ‘Age of Bugfixes’ so far) also will not achieve anything.
The bottom line is that until now the excuse was that they were working on adding complex new game content in their updates and that’s why all of these massive bugs went unaddressed and new ones slipped through the cracks.
Now they are literally adding nothing to the game (in fact they are removing the content they previously added), yet there are more bugs than ever and they are not getting fixed at any competent rate. So the promise of stopping content releases to “focus on fixing bugs” was just a stalling tactic, and they’re actually doing less than ever before.
Some of you can defend Funcom and make personal attacks until you’re blue in the face but it doesn’t change the fact that this is one of the most incompetently maintained games in the history of gaming.
