Housewife thrall =D

i just noticed a trend in official servers(at least pve ones i play) - people have some banks, where they drop all trip loot and later sort it(ask wife… i do so). why not to have such thralls then?

What?

So basically, get a T4 female bearer thrall and drop all your things in her inventory.
If I even understand what the heck you’re saying :eyes:

im talking about “vault”(i just call it “bank”, sorry).
after a trip i put all loot there to sort it later. so would be nice to have some kind of sorter thrall =]

We sort of already have a place to dump all the stuff we bring back, I just dump everything in a dismantling bench and once in a while pick it up from there to sort it to the right chests, but I guess a “HouseWife” thrall would look more immersive… Just not real according to my wife

PS. Welcome to the forum Artasan

Ah, this one has seen a mod that does something like this.
Bearers can be set to auto sort and store goods that you drop off in their inventory.

Sadly not at all how the Coffee Keeper (who is only an illusion projected by the collective obsession with money, just as the delving bench operator is a figment of the mad desires for ancient power) works.

thanks for the advice with dismantling bench!

Truth is that you will never sort it… People gather all that junk and never use any of it. Having an endless “vault” for loot would mean that it will grow and grow… In some MMOs you got a button “sell junk” or something, in Conan it might be cool to have a “disasemble all” button to turn all loot into recycled resources. Dismantling bench is too much hassle and it’s queue is very short.

The dismantling bench’s queue expands when full, it is not infinite but it is massive!
It was much more obvious before since you could auto-drop in the dismantling queue, but now you have to drag things in there manually XD

I agree though that looting is quite uninteresting in this game, because whatever you acquire that way or through dismantling can be acquire in vastly greater quantities by harvesting stuff yourself.

My only real use for the dismantling bench is to throw Legendaries in there to get Star Metal without bothering with meteors and explosives XD

i never loot it regular way, just (f)-loot everything and go. output from such style gathering is quite good(after dismantle, etc.), cause harvesting is pretty boring. after all, i don’t want to play Loot Manager 3.0 =]

I’ll have a look at that bench again, thanks

I think the regular dismantling bench has a max storage capacity roughly the size of a chest while the improved has a max capacity of 60 slots, not great but still decent.
I may remember wrong but I think it once had an infinite amount of slots or at least loads more than now, back then I never ran out of space in it

Okay @Noqturn @Frillen, I put some Bonemeal in my dismantling queue, then split it until it couldn’t split anymore. Here are the results:

Dismantling Bench: 40×5 = 200 slots in queue space ; 8×5 = 40 slots in regular inventory
→ 240 slot capacity.

Improved Dismantling Bench: 40×5 = 200 slots in queue space ; 12×5 = 60 slots in regular inventory
→ 260 slot capacity.

For reference, a Vault has 300 slot capacity.

↳ If you fill up the inventory and then dismantle something, the inventory expands accordingly, as with all crafting stations.

The NPC would be called a steward. They have been suggested before, just hand them your stuff and they sort it out.

Now being sexiest pig I recognize sexiest statements, and the title to this thread pretty sexist. Since I lost my power I can’t fix it, but only a single man would say “housewife thrall” and find it amusing.

Sadly, I tend to be this so-called “housewife thrall” already. :unamused: it would be nice to have a thrall you can assign to sort. Maybe take a little while and show them where each item type goes, like programming. Steel goes in this chest, iron in this one, silk in this one, and have them get to it. Obviously, if the chest is dismantled/picked up, they’ll just hold onto said item until it’s reassigned, but just moving its location shouldn’t change the assignment. Sadly, I fear the coding would be too complex for Funcom. Would likely break the game actually.

I am married and giggled about it, however when playing with my wife… Let’s just say that I play slightly differently than without her

If you play in clan and not liking being the one doing the chores around base then I recommend breaking out of that role and do what you like to do, it is a game and should be fun for all clan members

Way back in early access they talked about City Life which should bring more life to your thrall and base, I actually was expecting them to give us the opportunity to make simple to-do lists for some thralls besides different emote states like sleep, sit, eat, do simple chores etc.
Many games have a system like this in their game, look at “My Time at Portia”, they have a whole system where you can assign tasks to helpers.
Many of such games aren’t from big gaming companies but often small indie teams, so my guess is that it may not be as difficult as it seems, but this is mostly an online game which means it has to manageable for a server without overloading it, that may be the biggest problem.

However a special thrall to sort stuff you dump in them to dedicated containers should be fairly simple, they already have given us dedicated containers for certain resources, they just chose to put them in Battlepass and Bazaar, so a general game feature like this is pretty much thrown on the floor

I actually like this idea.

When playing as a male character, I always keep few female dancers or fighters now and there, almost naked and just for the sake “why not, I am a conqueror and you are going to be my decoration”. But those serve only to aesthetical purpose.

It would be very nice to have such a household thralls, to be actually helping with your most annoying chores.

Volumes spoken.

Funcom did put in specialty storage which is sort of a help sorting, I don’t use them. But ya I spend too much game time sorting loot.

They’re definitely convenient… however, as I was mentioning would be more for dedicated chests that i made. Some may be specialty chests, others may be normal chests. If we could just walk them through everything and ID each one appropriately, I’d be ok with that. I already have to do it with my clan mates.
