I play single-player. I fire up today to find that I can’t see more than 50 feet in front of me. I’m trying to build an aesthetically-pleasing base and now there’s a purple/blue cast over everything and everything’s dark. The meteors are a game-breaking loot-fest joke. From one meteor-fall, I have no less than 10 end-game starmetal picks and 16 skeleton keys. A guy on discord reported someone on his server just got 112 skeleton keys. Good grief! I know I can adjust those, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to disable a week of REAL TIME darkness.
I do not begrudge other players enjoying it, but I don’t want it. If there isn’t a way to disable it completely, please add one via hotfix as a matter of priority.
Like really? Why not make it toggable, i rented a dedicated server, modified everything for 4 days including how day and nighttime pass, now that i want to test my settings you FORCE the player to play with a permanent filter.
I like the idea and i admire the work you´ve put into this, but really
making it toggable is just a logical consequence
I was considering renting a private server today for myself and my friends. I’m so glad I logged into the game first. On PS4, this event is making the game entirely unplayable sure to lag. It’s insanely horrible. Ah, the slings and arrows of launching your first holiday event. Hahaha!
I just played 45 mins( i had to run the map to reset my decay timers!) and now i am totally dizzy when reading this, all colors IRL are off, this cant be right, im feeling it physically.
Hardly can read this text, and cannot focus on the letters i am typing, they stay unsharp.
Blue Light And Our Eyes
The visible light with the highest intensity is blue light, and just above it on the spectrum is UV radiation. One concern is that, because blue light is so close to UV radiation in wavelength, it might be similarly harmful, particularly to our vision. The screens on our electronic devices may not emit light anywhere near as bright as sunlight (which contains both blue light and UV radiation), but the time we spend staring at our screens is time we spend exposing our eyes to blue light.
[Edit ] i read this same text again after few hours and all is oke, it does has an effect on my eyesight, i realise.
Its an easy test just try it.
Microsoft will not like this at all, wondering about Steam.
This is BS! The meteorites won’t stop falling and my gameplay goes to crap! Please remove this horrible update, i cant bear 6 more days of this frustration.
Yes,i agree with everyone so far I just got this game and I’m addicted but it sucks.I haven’t played since the start of the event and I’m having withdraws.Conan is unplayable the lag is so bad I can’t eat, drink or even log off without minutes going by only to end in my frustration.
Stop punichen us we payd to play a normaal ga me not for permanent darkness. Manny people will stop for good after 6 days stop the update nog… STOP THE UPDATE NOW PLEASE… WE PAY NOT FOR DARKGAMES… ITS VACATION FOR MANNY… REMOVE THE UPDATE …
Hate Funcom dev model, while a game idea is great, the way how do such things like halloween event is completely terrible. I really like the game and can’t stop playing, but I doubt I would ever buy Funcom product once again. Disappointing.
The same people complaining would have been the same people arguing to have a Halloween event saying the game was repetitive and they need a distraction. All i kept seeing were people asking for a Halloween event. Now that it’s not an event they care to play they complain. Allot of people enjoy the fact that this company worked hard to give us something they thought would be fun. Just for people to still be ungrateful
@Poecat I am not ungrateful for their effort but here is my issues with the event.
I begin to experience headaches after only 30 minutes. It may vary for others. I have only played a Max of like 3 hours straight since the event started at the end of those 3 hours I had a migraine that lasted another four. Please find further research to this below…
Blue light penetrates very deep into your eyes causing eye strain.Blue Light Exposed explains that: “Most of us spend the majority of our waking hours staring at digital screen, whether it’s the computer at work, our personal cell phone, playing a video game, or just relaxing and watching TV. Digital eyestrain is a new term used to describe the conditions resulting from the use of today’s popular electronic gadgets.
Blue light and migraines : “Fluorescents, LEDs, TVs, computers, smart phones, and other electronics that emit blue light disrupt our sleep patterns at night. Additionally, these devices do not provide a constant source of light. They are actually flickering. This flickering from artificial lights has been reported to trigger migraines and is well known for causing eye strain and headaches. The combination of eye strain, oxidative stress, and sleep disruptions make blue light dangerous for migraine sufferers.” (source)
“Excessive exposure” can differ from person to person but one thing Is clear in each article and supporting sources is that blue light will have an extremely negative effect on everyone either they notice it quikly like myself in 30 minutes or in a few hours it’s effecting them.
