Ok fellas, I know that Funcom has already declared that no new biome will ever be released but, still, I can’t bear to have a map with a quarter completely empty; we’re not speaking of a lil’ portion of the world but almost a 1/4 of the map is, well… useless.
Taking for granted that no new scenario will ever come out but, would it be possible to “recycle” some of the existing environment and use that part of the map too?
I’m sure there would be plenty of users happy about it, and also plenty of users ready to help for free in making it (am I a dreamer?)
I feel this needs to be a sticky seeings how once or so a week someone posts that a quarter of the map could give us more map and someone has to post that that is where all of the dungeons are located.
Not all dungeons are there; most currently existing dungeons are elsewhere, on the borders of the existing biomes. The empty area is intended to accommodate the new dungeons, though (the four we know of, and who knows how many more we don’t).
@Tselem
It is possible and right now there are several groups of Modders working on integrating parts of these Lands into a modded Version of this Game. These projects will take time and I don’t know when we can expect the first Mods coming with new lands for Conan Exiles.
Nevertheless right now there are still no dungeons in this area. But there could be some in future. Beside the upcoming oceanic dungeon, 3 more dungeons are planed. They will probably release them with the upcoming 3 DLCs for 2019.
I think a few smart people have already populated this section with some dungeon activity, which in itself consumes most of the area, if laid flat. From a human side, since 1640 cartographers have dedicated 1/5 of the page to explanation. So irrespective of retconning dungeon space, 20% of the map should be there to help the reader better understand it.
I think the original post refers to the actual biomes, not the empty void we see on the map where everyone assumes dungeons are (or will be). That is my impression at least…
As I play a lot exploring the whole map, travelling by foot everywhere (even on modded servers with teleports and such), I also would agree that some areas of the actual biomes are dead empty. Maybe it’s a real reflection of what it should be, an unpopulated exile lands with little life and a bit of wildlife. I agree more camps, or abandoned keeps or structures could be implemented in the current biomes adding more life, encounters, and possibly quests in the process.
Once you have gone to every place in the map, it’s very, very hard to get surprised by a pack of wildlife or any npc at all. I just saw another topic regarding the randomness of encounters, and that could be a solution that would add an imprevious factor to the game, that would make it a more believable survival quest, rather than repeating visits to the same places for the same results everytime. Every new char I play has the advantage of my out of game knowledge of the map, detracting a lot from the survival aspect of the game.
As a PS4 user I know that no mods will be added for us sonyconsollers (looosers booo ^^) so I’m simply noticing that a wide space of the starting asset (the map) is void and useless… it simply looks, stupid.
If new stuff are coming I’m more than happy about that, but I was relying on the fact that no new “land” will ever be inserted and so this geographic situation will remain the same.
One of the last patches added some enemy around the world (I quote whoever said “add random encounters”) and I think that adding encounters or finding new structures (also recycled) and places would keep this game alive throughout the time, just as it was for F4 that lasted so long due to the add-ons made by players for players.
