Yes, the update does feel like they rushed it in order to get it our for the anniversary. Not the best strategy, given their track record of breaking things with updates. On the other hand, they hadn’t released a new update or new content for some time, and people were getting bored or upset, so they had a strong motivator to release something, even at the risk of breaking a few things.
As much as players these days say that “oh, we can wait, just make sure it’s ready before you release it”, the unfortunate fact is that players don’t have infinite patience, and delaying new releases indefinitely will cause them to leave for greener pastures. It’s a lose-lose for the company.
In any case, my point stands. Hostility and aggressive language when giving feedback, whether during testlive or post-release, is counter-productive. Being polite and civil doesn’t cost anything, but the potential yields are significantly better, not just in a gaming environment, but in life in general. I’ve seen the way people communicate developing towards more aggressive, more hostile behavior over the last 20 years, and that direction disturbs me more than a little.
