I died and my 4-hour loot is gone. I want my loot back. It's absurd to lose everything, after playing so much, and collecting a lot. It is useless to play it at this point. Resolve, I'm very angry

Welcome to the forums @Lexa84!

Unfortunately there are no reimbursements of lost loot for any reason. I’m sorry for your loss. :disappointed_relieved:

Why does the stuff disappear? It’s impossible to play like that. Fix this bug.

Most amazing Game ever made, when it works.

When does it work?
Answer: somewhere-in-between-Ages.
How long does it work?
Answer: only just until the next major Update.

Every release is chock full o’ errors n’ goodness. Beautiful Game, but if you play on Official you play as a Beta Tester. You are always a Beta tester on console, especially older generation consoles. Adjust your expectations, and find a good private server where you may have access to the Admin, or play solo, so that you can turn off drop on death, because lagging and walking off a cliff gets old somewhere between 2000 and 3000 hours.

Huge Fan here, just a little dead on the inside, broken from followers disappearing through mesh, or level 20 thralls at full health drowning to death as I teleport home, or losing full kit when I lag-slash-die at the end of a huge boss fight. Amazing game, amazing community, but this game breaks with-every-age.

Oh, welcome to the Forums @Lexa84 .

Ah perfect. That sucks, a disgrace. So one plays, one slams for nothing

Thank you for welcoming me

On a positive note, I promise I will try to positive now,
the more specific you can be while describing your issue goes a long way towards Funcom being able to isolate your specific issue.

Funcom really does address error reports, I have had positive interactions with Community Support members here, and the Forum Community has helped me greatly understand and isolate my numerous and ever changing errors.

I have loved the support I get here, but you have to adjust your expectations, It is a journey unlike any other.

Welcome to the forum exile!
I will happily announce you that there’s not a bug here, it’s a mechanic! I will unhappily announce you that your loot is gone from your mistake however, i am really sorry.
One thing you learn from the very beginning of this game is that knowledge costs, but if you choose to read carefully and act this way the next time, your loot will be lost very difficult.
So we start!
1st. If you die you have 30 min to gain your loot back.
2nd. In order to gain your loot back you need to open your map and search for your tombstone.
3rd. If you go very close to your tombstone then zoom max your map. This way you will be able to see your exact location of your death loot.

If you manage to be there before this timer, 30 min, you’ll get all your loot back.

Always remember!
Every time you take long journeys make sure you’ll fix a bedroll and a campfire in a safe place. In the campfire place just a stone hatchet, it costs nothing. If you die this stone hatchet will give you fast materials to arm your self with stone weapons and shield until you’ll get your loot back.

Welcome to the agony of exile lands.

My problem is that I died in one spot, and it told me that the loot was there, but there was nothing. I had been exploring for 4 hours, lost a lot of rare stuff, and I’m pissed

It’s been a while that I couldn’t find my loot after death. Maybe 3 years? But at this time your loot was invisible for you but not for other players. So the trick was to call a friend that pick up your loot or showing you where your body is.
But at this time it was a daily problem to lose your loot not to compare with now.

How long are you playing Conan? Be aware that this things could happen all the time. For example some stability issues that let your whole base and stuff lose stability.

But also what kind of server type are you playing? Maybe someone loot your body? I don’t know if it’s in the logs, but maybe take a look at this. At least there should be a notice of the decaying loot bags of your body if nobody else take it from you.

Depends on how long it was since you died. If it took more than about 30 minutes to reach your body, you lost it to the timer. However, if it didn’t take you long to reach your body and you died only once (the time you dropped it all), then yeah, it’s a bug. I’ve had similar bugs in the past. One was that I died one more time beyond my first death that dropped my loot (you can usually die up to about 3 times before it despawns) and I reached it within the time limit, but it was all gone. And yeah, I had some rare drops and stuff. It sucked, but I had to chalk it up to the game bugging out and nothing I could do. If it happens A LOT, that’s one thing, but these types of bugs are far and few between. If you quit after something like that, I understand your frustration, but I’d rather keep going and ignore it. I like the game a lot and it’s a small price to pay for overall enjoyment.

Have to wonder, what rare items?
Just how long have you been playing?
Are you on one of the public servers?

Seriously, if you expect to get your loot back when you lose it to a game bug, not going to happen, and be prepared for it to happen again.

Every time i die i dont even look for my body go to sorcery tab with ur construction hammer craft i think its called a circle of power u can summon demons to fight with u an demon mounts but qlso when u die summon ur body loot an all to u without having to hunt for it hope that helos

None of you are actually paying attention here. Most of you are the reason this game still has SO many issues. Because you accept and disregard the fact that the game completely ruins itself and has bug issues that are NOT acceptable nor should occur unless after release or updates. In which yes, the game publisher should address it and correct and mistakes to the player base that fuels it with their time and money.
The fact is that we love the game, but as any other game we load up on our systems? IT SHOULD WORK AND FUNCTION PROPERLY! Without extreme glitches that you people replying, are trying to downplay and act as if it’s no big deal. LOSING REAL TIME HOURS, if not DAYS, of time spent gathering all said items, resources, etc.
So having a bug that literally changes a huge functionality or part OF the game? Is not only sad and ridiculous, it’s pathetic from a title and company as big as this one.

If you have a timer of decay, set for your dropped loot. Then have a tombstone mechanic for LETTING YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS!? But yet, the BUG, (not player’s fault) not only doesn’t display to you a tombstone/death marker on the map AT ALL, but also “decays” it, BEFORE the timer is up? Completely defies and redundancies the entire concept and mechanic, of the tombstone/death marker and timed decay of your loot/body.

My son today alone, jumped on my single player, and killed me. No big deal, I’ll just go get my stuff. But NO tombstone and my entire loot bag decayed after EXACTLY TWO MINUTES AND TEN SECONDS!! Not even giving me ANY time to return to retrieve it, even if the death marker DID appear like it’s supposed to.
This isn’t just a simple lag or bug or glitch, it’s a major issue with the game that not only has cost hundreds if not thousands of players their HOURS upon HOURS of gameplay and collecting, etc. But that has killed a huge number of the player base off, and have most of us feel as if it’s just a huge waste of time. One that should not occur.

If you’re going to have a mechanic in the game,(item drop on death and decay timer for dropped items.) it shouldn’t bug or glitch out still YEARS after release. If you’re going to have a contingency feature, in response to that mechanic? (The death marker / tombstone.) then it should function properly and actually appear, instead of wasting dozens of hours of player time and dedication.
FIX THE ISSUE! Trust me the entire gamer base FOR this game knows Funcom isn’t going to fix the fact of or give back the lost items.

This is an exciting time for Conan Exiles, we should be enjoying the new features and content in these updates, NOT RE-DOING HOURS OF DEDICATED PLAY, RE-CRAFTING AND RE-COLLECTING STUFF DUE TO A STUPID PROBLEM THAT NEVER SHOULD OF OCCURRED!!

Excuse me :unamused:

A term that never sets well with me.

That entire rip of a post, running the game and us players down. And you have no clue of the circumstance. Your entire post is based on an assumption. You don’t know what happened with the OP. Did it take him half an hour to get to his stuff so the timer ran out? Most games have this mechanic.
Did he die a couple times trying to get to it?
Did he just not see it? Like we all haven’t had an occasion where we were looking at the map, my body should be right there, where that big rock is. Or run around and finally find it under a bush.

Not saying your wrong on your points, but flying in to a rant based on an assumption does not help your argument. Nether does "you people"ing us readers.

Your loot bag or your body with your loot? If your son farmed your body then everything is in a loot bag. When your inventory is in your body then it goes to loot bag after 30 min. And then 2 min for disappearing the loot bag

Died due to a bug? If not i wonder what was the problem. In survival games you lose loot when die, you can recove it during one hour before the body desapears and if you die more three time the first body will despawn.

Look my apologies if that part was taken the wrong way. But I was referring to any players (mainly two of the players who previously responded to the original post) that not only try to downplay or write off someone who tried to bring attention to an issue or bug of, but simply accept or in some cases, whom try to defend, large the issues or bugs with said game titles. Especially ones that change major aspects or functionalities of the game, or that basically randomly erase hours and hours of our time spent, as if they never happened.

As with mine? I feel and understand the original person who started this post. Because I’m used to and have experienced, each separate instance or situation that some of you mention or that can happen regarding the topic. I’ve had each one happen to me. Some many times. Yes, it is just a part of the game most of the time. So I can easily see how someone could accidentally make a mistake and boom, all of your stuff is gone. Whether it’s not returning to your death marker in time, or personal error, logging off, etc. I like most, just take the L knowing that‘s on me. Regardless of what’s lost. Because those are part of the game mechanics. Which I love. Hence why I hate playing with the “no loot dropped on death” setting on servers.
However, a big reason most of us can get our loot back? Is because of one of the most basic contingency features of the game. The death marker. On the map. That shows you exactly, (for the most part) where you died and where you can find your body/loot. Not to mention the timer associated with it. In our two situations, the game bugged out for whatever reason, and that didn’t happen.
In my situation, i seen my 4 yr old son die with my person exactly how I had him and entire inventory, etc. all the same. I just only had a few seconds glance before it died and respawned at my base. So I didn’t recognize where he died at. This is where I took the controller. When I went to the map, my death marker was non-existent. At all. So I had figured a large and unfortunate glitch or bug happened, but at first didn’t care. Just wanted to overcome it. Then 2 minutes and 10 seconds after I respawned at base, every single thing I had on me prior to death? I got the event logs all at once that they decayed. Gone. Round about same for the original poster.

I get and understand the process, I really do. It’s part of the challenge/survival aspect of the game that I absolutely love. But that isn’t what happened in this situation. It actually didn’t start happening until after the newest update from what I can tell.
See, the moment my son accidentally killed me, I took the controller while respawning at base to go get all of my stuff back. I just didn’t recognize the spot he died at. So when looking at the map to see my tombstone/death marker to know where I died and where to go? It wasn’t anywhere to be found. That’s when I started just exploring nearby, myself, to hurry and find it before the timer was up and made it all decay. But I got the event logs all at once, 2 minutes and 10 seconds after the single death event log. That every single thing I had on me, decayed. Extremely early and at a weird time interval at that. That’s never been the case for my single player profile as I’ve never changed any associating setting regarding it.
This is where I and I think, the original poster, is stumped. And why I was so angry when it first happened.

There are still far too many people trying to kiss this games and companies ass.

They left us in the dust long ago lol, warning people not to waste their money on a broken game that never gets fixed properly should not cause my post to be hidden or flagged. It’s the hard truth.

People need to know that unless you have a good pc, DO NOT buy this game on console (new or old gen, because I’m sure it was working better on my ps4 pro than it does on my ps5)

Until this company decides to give us a current gen upgrade and fix the bugs they keep adding, they do not deserve money. They should be issuing refunds after not fixing it for years.

I didn’t mean any offense, just that the lack of small bug or glitch reporting and player to player support when new or unexperienced ones happen, is a big contributor to Funcom’s lack of ability to know about, much less investigate and fix the said issues. Even if they deemed it worthy of spending actual efforts towards focusing on.
There are a lot of games whose player bases as a whole, don’t communicate well enough like that. To help mitigate these bugs or glitches that pop up. And there should be.
