I donā€™t know how big you are, But Iā€™m 6ā€™3" and 280 lbs
if I can learn to use and even like this system, so can you.
I believe in you, you can do it.

itā€™s actually really fun if you give it a chance.
think of A & D as reins

LOL I know where the keybinds areā€¦what I dont know is how you remap keybinds that arent there

Oh, okay. Those are still in the Input.ini file, unfortunately. Iā€™m not sure why they didnā€™t add the UI for those.

I tried that, it did not work, the keys i assigned for controlling the horse did not work.

I could live with the steering the way it is IF, they allowed me to hit a key and lock the camera behind me when I wasnt fighting.

Agreed.

Yeah, I just tested it and the MountMoveForwardBackward and MountMoveLeftRight donā€™t work anymore :frowning:

Initially my knee-jerk reaction was to agree here. And I did.

However after doing more mounted combat in game I can say I am comfy with it being this way. This works nicely, one thing that would make it a teeny bit better was if stationary or slow turning was a little bit more responsive - would make combat feel more fluid.

But the mouse aim and key movement is actually ok, maybe a bit of getting used to but itā€™s totally ok.

Keybinds on the other handā€¦

It kind of has to be this way. If the horse followed your mouse at all times you would only be able to target what is in front of you, Combat would be horrible and the easiest way to beat a guy on a horse would be to run circles around them and try hitting them in the side, Like with your character the horse would only move towards the mouse pointer when you move forwards, the horse wont just turn in place to follow your cursor as that would be broken. So hitting anything on a horse would be extremely challenging.

Maybe it could work in a way that the horse will move towards your mouse as long as your weapon isnt drawn and then it switches to the current movement system you you pull out a weapon but that might get even more confusing for some folks. Although I will say that this is how it worked in ARK, any tame that you were allowed to use a weapon on the back of would switch to Conans current movement setup for mounts but only when you pulled out a weapon, eg a crossbow or rifle or w/e. And then once you put the weapon away it would switch back to the normal mouse pointer follow mechanic. It was a bit annoying however not being able to look around easily without moving your mount in the direction you were looking, however there was free cam mode that worked on the mounts in ARK.

I havent tried yet but doesnt pressing ā€œvā€ work while on a mount?
