I start to think daggers might be op

No complaints about pikes aside from their ridiculous hit boxes. The pike’s head could be in another post code and still hit me. I’m exaggerating of course, but just barely

Client authority is the problem.
The client tells the server what happened.
Enemy hits you on his screen, but you are 1.5 meters away on your screen.
His client tells the server: “Hey I hit that guy!”
Server: “Okay. Other client, you got hit!”
Your client: “Wait wooot?!”

That’s part of it. It’s also where the hit box for the pike extends a bit further than the actual end of the model. Teimos killed my naked butt several times while i was trying to knock him out because I would roll out of the way and then WHACK. The force of his stab hit me from about a foot out of range

Daggers are meant for dot there is no reason that light attack does damage.

Daggers post be hit run every game that’s what they used. Post have crappy damage multipliers, and real damage is dots.

If no one understand then funcom has no hope in hell.

Light attacks are post to be design for jabs and to set up heavy attacks.

So, following your logic, why even have separate heavy/light attacks? You can get into position by just using your analog stick (if console) or wasd keys (if PC). Just make all attacks heavy and remove the light attacks.

Which is ridiculous. Light attacks should still do damage. Less than a heavy, but still damage.

Light and heavy should do damage but daggers are design as dot mechanic fast attacks.

Daggers in most games are Stan weapons and benefit very little from damage.

Reason why light attack has lunge but no bleed mechanic until very end. It is setup offensive but they put it in light so damage was meant to be low.

Why do you swords have lunge in heavy because it’s more in damage side.

They design daggers right but left light and heavy attack with high damage multiply.

Damage should be low because light attack stagger then choice comment to heavy attack add bleed or continue light attack let them burn their dodge.

Light damage was not meant do any damage because it’s should be setup and to save stamina and wait to apply bleed.

I agree with your line of yhinking. Lights should be more defensive/maneuvering attacks, heavy are to apply most damage. Even more so someway to truly stack damage deeper into the combo. Too many times i see 1 or 2 attacks, rarely a full combo. Because the risk is not worth yhe reward to fully commit.

Ah I think I misunderstood you. The light attacks do too much damage and should to lower damage.

I thought you were saying that they shouldn’t do any at all. My mistake.

Have use while wind swords

On heavy attack when start spinning does very little damage. That’s damage light attack should do

That sounds good. I like it

Reason for that is just that it’s almost impossible. Pikes has almost no hyperarmor in the heavy chain, and when they decide to reduce speed of the pike, between 2nd and 3rd and also 3rd and 4th, no body really can use the full combo chain.

I agree that spears overall are in a good spot. They should not be changed to much. I would like to see some hyperarmor for the heavys and maybe some more speed to it. But that’s also my opinion on all weapons. Right now I can turn my screen of and then turn my screen on again, and my enemy havent finnished the combo yet.

Has 3 seconds fight against daggers.

Becomes expert on how daggers are supposed to work.

I’m going to ask a loaded question real quick. I’m being honest up front as a matter of sincerity.

But forgetting actual numbers in game for the moment, how much more damage should light armor users take compared to equally tiered heavy armor users after all proper fixes (assume its done 100% to your ideal in your answer for the sake of argument) are applied? Answers such as double, triple, 2x, 1.5x, or anything like that is acceptable.

Damage-taken multipliers that I believe should be what we’d expect (Barring extremely optimized setups)

I’ll also list what I view to be reasonable tradeoffs

No armor: 100% damage (Fastest stamina regen, reduced dodge cost)
Light armor: 85-75% Damage (Fast Stamina Regen, slightly reduced dodge cost)
Medium Armor: 60-50% Damage (Moderate Stamina Regen, normal dodge cost)
Heavy Armor: 35-25% (Slightly slow stamina regen, increased dodge cost)

That’s my opinion on the subject. This, of course, ignores the agility stat (because it’s negligible) and the survival perk that adds armor (same reason)

Weapons need to be re-worked. All of them. Better animations, mostly. I can start my swing with a warhammer then file my taxes before the hit connects.

I’ll have you marked down as 3x

Honestly I think what OP discovered was not that Daggers are OP (altho I see them far more than anything else, with only spears in corridors coming close), but rather than Archery and Heavey Armour are sorta manky.

Personally, I’m not as upset about how much damage reduction different armour has. Altho the Siptah stuff is extremely defensive for what it is.
I personally would rather see Hyper-armour attached to armour weight.

Light armour, good rolls, no hyper armour.
Heavy armour, you probably don’t roll, but your attacks also can’t be interrupted.

Now, realistically speaking, readjusting the coding for where hyper armour comes from would be… honestly… less than realistic.
But that would be my ideal fix.

Hyper Armor on all attacks alongside 85% (its current amount on epic armor) damage reduction would make heavy way too powerful. However… maybe on the first attack in a combo which would allow heavy to initiate a combo with impunity, forcing others to roll away rather than try to trade blows. Without the ability to animation cancel, and the nearly universal fact that first hit attacks do not put status effects on wouldn’t make it OP. But would be challenging to deal with.

And the best part, it wouldn’t be a horrible thing in PVE either.

This would not change the Poke’n Roll META we currently have in PvP:

Well this video is clearly wrong because according to the forum every good player is running around naked with stone daggers :stuck_out_tongue:

There are more weapons than just spears.
