so after getting pretty hyped about a tv show in the works its now been a while and i know as well as most that these things can take years but i was wondering if anyone has heard something

There’s been no more news about it, but that doesn’t mean much either way tbh. Secret Society’s are still pretty popular, so it could still happen. A lot depends on how fast they were able to get a script together really.

The property is still with Depp’s studio according to IMDb

But scraping their IMDbPro data (which I’m too cheap to actually pay for) doesn’t list it as moving beyond “In Development” yet. Maybe Mr Johnny is suppressing the truth and trying to keep it locked away?

I think right now Johnny’s got bigger issues, assuming he’d directly have a hand in the production of a Secret World show. What with his abuser ex-wife and lawsuits in regards to that situation.

I would so love to see this movie happen! Let’s face it, the story is what makes SWL awesome. I wonder who they’d choose to play the main NPCs! I’d love to see Morgan Freeman lead the Templars!

Just watched a trailer for an HBO series called Lovecraft Country. That show has some serious Secret World vibes, and it looks amazing. It should be out this sunday.

Honestly, I think the only thing about the show that ever happened was the company buying the rights to the IP on the off chance they ever find a way to make money off it, and then just forgetting about it.
Kinda like what happened with the Wheel of Time for the longest time.

I remember in the early 90’s being so excited that they were going to make a Spider-Man movie… it took em about 10 years to do it. Didn’t come out until 2000… I was in College by than… and my boyish excitement had waned.
