Is there a way to play offline?

I play Conan Exiles on my laptop and sometimes I don’t have access to wifi. It would be amazing if there were a way to play offline, but the game doesn’t launch without internet access. Is there the possibility that it might, someday, be an option for single player?

You can play single-player offline, but you have to prepare the game first.

To prepare the game, make sure you’re online and start the game. Let it log you into Funcom Live Services and then exit the game. This should cache your FLS account locally. You can verify that by opening the Game.ini file and checking the [FuncomLiveServices] section. There should be a CachedUsers entry there with your account in it.

Once that is done, you can swith Steam to offline mode and play Conan Exiles even without the Internet connection. Bear in mind that you will not have access to anything from the Battle Pass, Bazaar, or Twitch. Your DLCs should work normally.

Thank you! I’m trying that now.

I apologize for the amateurish question - could you please clarify the location of the file?

Here’s how to find it:

  1. In Steam, click on the gear button and then select “Properties…”

  2. In the properties window, click on “Installed Files” and then on “Browse…”:

  3. This should open the game installation folder in your File Explorer. Navigate to “ConanSandbox”, then “Saved”, then “Config”, then “WindowsNoEditor”.

  4. In this folder, you should see Game.ini. You can right-click on it and select “Edit” and that should open a Notepad where you can see the contents.

If you use BUGLE, it will tell you whether you can play online and whether you can play singleplayer:

It will also automatically try to cache your FLS account so you’re ready to play offline single-player, but the same requirements apply: you need to run BUGLE at least once with Steam running in online mode (and a healthy internet connection).
