I have a few crocs that spawn near my base. If I am standing far away a mob of my thralls will attack the croc but miss all of their attacks. The croc would still damage my thralls. If I move closer, then the thralls hit and the croc dies immediately. Is this a bug or some sort of intended mechanic?
It’s been like that for months now. I’m not sure if anyone ever reported it as a bug. It sure smells like a bug.
Its some kind of rendering bug I think. But Like Codemage stated, it has been like that for awhile now.
I can stand at a distance and watch my neighbors Berserkers fight a scorpion for hours, but when I move up to them they finally kill it.
On the flipside, it doesn’t seem to affect archers. My wall archers consistently kill the two rhino spawn near my northwestern wall. I just pass by every once in awhile to collect the hides. Or maybe they die from getting stuck on the spikes, who knows?
Nope. What @Dvaidp is describing is that your followers won’t deal any damage, but the mobs will. Like I said, it’s been like that for quite a while now. Unless someone can come up with a reasonable explanation for why it should work like that, I would call it a bug. I just can’t be arsed to report it myself
Yes, experiencing the same thing.
I’ll be inside my base, when I’ll hear the 10+ pets and fighters outside engage a spider or a hyena. It sounds like an epic battle is going on, and it can last forever.
But as soon as I go outside and look at the creature it instantly dies from the barrage of followers.
I also find that my thralls won’t respond to a Purge attack unless I’m right there next to them.
If I’m a short distance away the thralls that are set to “guard” will just stand there waiting while the purge mobs hack away at my base causing loads of damage. Then, when I move closer, the thralls suddenly come to life and start defending like they should do. The distance is very small as well it seems.
The worst kind of employee’s. The ones that only ever do any work when the supervisior is there watching them.
it’s indeed a bug , but with a reasonable explanation behind : there is a discrepency between the radius around you where thralls deals damage to things , and the radius around you where wildlife deals damage to things … The intended version would be no discrepency between those two radius(es?) .
but the fact that things far enough stop dealing damage is intended since it saves up memory usage on the server ! ( and can save your pet left behind fighting while you died and run back to it )
