Is this game still in beta?

Twice is my number. Once near the beginning of early access, and once after gamma release. I will check in now from time to time to see if things have been worked out before I spend more time in this game. I had fun both times, and I probably got my moneys worth out of it already, but I need a stable game now.

I must be the luckiest player on Earth. I play on PS4 official (I play a lot, not sure how many hours total, but usually 4 - 5 a day and more on weekends), and I have never had an issue other than my corpse disappearing. I rarely lag, and that is generally when both kids are playing fortnite and I have Netflix running on my other TV. This game has been awesome so far. I have blue screened 1 time and about a month ago I lost a thrall as I was going across a river on a horizontal elevator. Other than that I get regular purges, my Thralls perform well during fights & purges, it’s been a great game. I really hope I don’t start experiencing all the issues other people are having.

Have you not experienced any of the 500 issues that were fixed in the ‘mother of all patches’? Mother of all Patches PC Build 102943/18618 (05.07.2018) - #205 by Darzul

You need to keep in mind that the forums are going to attract the most disgruntled players. They experience rare bugs or exaggerate about barely annoying issues and come here and act like the game is so broken that it won’t even launch for 99% of players or something like that.

The PC version was the only one to receive the MOAP update so far. Xbox and PS4 still have not.

If you are playing on one of the consoles, it’s a good idea to watch the PC forums so you can see what fixes, and for some reason, new bugs are coming your way.

So Boshek77’s game still has those 500 issues, yet somehow he manages to not notice them.

I guess so.

WoW accredited an extra day for every 8 hours of downtime. I only paid 10 months for my first year with them because of that launch.

With that said. Conan Exiles is playable. I don’t see crashes, I don’t see game breaking bugs. I can login and play do a goal, and log off without seeing dozens of issues.

I can’t say the same for Elite: Dangerous which would black screen my computer every few jumps. I can’t say the same about Ghost Recon Wildlands which would CTD after playing for 20 minutes. I can’t say the same about Bless Online which had .ini settings issues and didn’t like my keyboard and would freeze the game on input.

Those were all game breaking issues on released games.

Right now the biggest bug for me in Conan is the NPC’s non-aggression thing. Caused by not launch, but by a post launch feature. There’s other bugs too, but they have work arounds. That one doesn’t. Thankfully I play on a PVP server so what NPCs do in PVE I could care less about. I’ve beaten the PVE game long ago.

This is pretty much true. I’ve seen players encounter a bug. Then do the same thing again and get the bug again. And instead of doing any sort of work around or anything different, they just for reasons of principle, ignorance, or other word that is censored here, keep doing it.

Its like playing Final Fantasy on NES and someone using ALIT while fighting Tiamat and complaining it doesn’t do anything on their third or fourth playthrough.

Yah, I have been stocking up on a lot of the things that are getting ready to become more expensive, or harder to find when the new patch hits us.

I think I would notice them if they were happening to me, they just aren’t happening. My experience has been dramatically different from most others on the forums. I also agree with Rayner, we are reading the squeaky wheel comments most of the time on here. I won’t act like I write video game software, but I have been a (very boring business) programmer as my profession for 14 years, so I am somewhat sensitive to things not working the way they should.

If thralls are broken the game is broken. Thralls were better before the patch, let’s say a broken leg. Now, they have 4 broken limbs and a broken sternum.

I guess that makes you the odd one out.

After the MOAP (Pre-oatch really) I play tested my own server and it is actually stable for 6-8 hours then progressively deteriorates after. Prior to the DLC (was supposed to be DLC only but was not) I could easily run the server for 7 days which I had an auto-restart scheduled. That is a major difference. In my opinion Patch 32 was by far Funcom’s best and most stable release.

As for bugs…I know what they are and I make my own mods or download Steam Workshop items to fix (workarounds) these. Nothing a modder can do when 4 of us are sitting at a table roleplaying our next adventure and after a heavy lag spike we watch all thralls fall through and disappear…then The Wheel…then all brick foundations (T2)…leaving us floating on our chairs and the crafting center with all the stations still floating in air. All of this was POST DLC…and now the MOAP fixed some things but has a really nasty memory leak.

Also I have lost 14+ Sidsel RP Companion (thrall follower/companion) to stupid engine bugs like parking her at a camp site then building a Bonfire and turning around and she is gone. Poof. I stopped building Bonfires Near Placed Tents and that seemed to put an end to that nonsense. What really? Many of these little ‘gotchas’ in this game.

Gameplay itself? Depends upon what you do and look for to see the bugs. Many of them are not immediately obvious. Which is why ‘Surface Skim Testing’ will never be good enough in this game.

If the game was stable and fully functioning properly the forum would be really quiet and us RPers would be typing stories and singing around a campfire…food for thought.

Note: not a complaint post…just stating it like it is. Calling an Apple an Apple.

This rings as true as anything. Many players know about the sandstone wedges making chests and other items disappear, yet they use them anyway. After a couple times of losing items upon upgrade, I decided that every new build would START at t2, and I’d never mess with t1 again unless it was staying that way or was a temporary building/detail that would never get upgraded.

The nerf to insulated wood was a terrible idea, since you can’t make oil for quite a few levels after t2 is unlocked (fluid press). Should have just added in a few hardened bricks instead since that’s what the outside of Black Ice looks like. (sorry, just had to QQ about that…)

Fixing wells and fish traps are very major bugs. Wells are a total necessity if you live out in the middle of the desert or anywhere far from a water source, and fish traps not refilling could cause a huge shortage on oil that is now necessary for insulated wood. Seeing armors and weapons (Silent Legion) nerfed (which was a good thing to see) after launch adds credibility to this topic, that it seems this game is still in Gamma stage and not quite a fully released product.

Not defending or criticizing the game, but more taking my learned experience with people; there will still be people complaining I agree they will be fewer in number but some people are only happy when being miserable.

Yes indeed, true. Misery loves company. LOL!!
There would definitely not be the viral raging pitchforks of fiery death tone it has now though.:smiley:

Lol I think it is great you all can say that it is the players fault for doing something over and over that causes bugs. Like it is their fault for that happening lmao. You all really think like that dont yall?

Kind of like defending a game that is broken over and over huh lmao

And you all got your money’s worth because yall binged on it for a while and now even know you cant play it, it is ok because you got ex amount of hours. This really really sounds like denial. Like failure to admit yall got duped like everyone else so would rather say this lol.

And as far as “my playtime has been way different” and just some squeaky wheels on the forums… Have you all looked at the numbers for the game? How many people are actually playing? Not many. Then take a large portion of that that is on the forums complaining because they cant play. Not many people really playing it huh. Even you all arent because I am pretty sure if yall could or would you wouldn’t be on the forums commenting on post about the game is broken and stuff… food for thought lol

That’s it. Bugs apart. The feeling that they do’nt know what they are doing, and even don’t play their own game at all.
