We have a clan of one guy on our server. If you look hard, you can find his transpo network. He places them in out of the way places, where you wouldn’t run across them unless you were really searching the map.
Since none of them are inside structures, we can see how many. Since he did not change the names, we can see clues like “East of The Den”.
We’ve made a game of finding them. The only rule is we can’t use them to find where the others are. Now, you might think this is limited, but he keeps adding them. I’ve found 12, and there are 3 more I cannot locate.
So, the question for the Funcom staff is…How many can one clan have working at one time? We have 3 to connect our bases that are not close to Obelisks.
Yeah there is alot on my server as well, but its not just one guy, its very dangerous to try and use them because alot of folks build “teleporter sheds” and you dont wanna get stuck inside one of those. I think as of right now there are 6 different player Transport Stones built around Mek Kemoses’s spire. with half of them enclosed in a structure. My base is close so i dont need to teleport there, nor do i have a network built (waiting for next Age)
On our private server (PvE) i was the first to 60 and first to max sorcery so people on the server dedicated mats and i have placed them in places that are hard to get to for everyone to use and near friends bases for quick trips to help with purges for everyone. Its been great. Each one is on a circle of foundation non enclosed with a t4 dancer above. Been great for the server I currently have 4 out with 5 going into the jungle near flotsam and 6 by blackhands pirate ship. I put them in places where they are out of the way or to small for a base. In sorcery i only use body recover, the teleporter, very rarely slowfall, and the detect resource ( easyer to spot starmetal) i find no use for anything else honestly. And the light spell doesnt help much. IMO
I only put up the transtones in places I inevitably end up over loaded. The savanna where I pack up on hides and meat. Buceneer’s bay the only place to get black silk and exotic spices; which I wish I could grow. And so on. Right now I have three, at max I’ve had 5.
oh hell yes! I remember in live stream devs told “oh its the last lvl in sorcery, people will not spam it” Well here we are. One conscient people will have one or two, or will remove it after use. But even with 200 conscient player on a server it will be full of tp stones. I only used one when i had to transport 16 thralls from one place to another and removed it after use. The obelisk system works preety good for me, on horse back or with beast of burden perk i can reach anywhere in no time.
I have quite a few, but I make them small, one building outposts, mostly just pretty things. For example, I have a Greek villa by the desert near the sentinels, a longhouse in the highlands, a small house with a dock wedged between the rocks by sepermeru, etc. They may be larger than a small transportory stone structure, but they’re more aesthetically pleasing and contain things like an alchemy bench for farming. Some of the areas might also have a wheel for thrall farming (ie, the longhouse). Only place I just have a transportory in a small structure is at Mek’s spire. I didn’t wanna be intrusive there since there’s other transporters in the area with larger builds. All of my transporters are open to others though. I figured it was nice to allow people to use them if they wanted to avoid building their own. The only one that I have closed off is on siptah near the leyshrine so I didn’t have people rushing through my transporter to steal a surge. Though that doesn’t stop them if they’re at their own base and use their own since there’s a few there.
My private server is doing well, with the number of Transportory Stones under control with no restrictions. However, the official server I play on clearly shows the importance of implementing restrictions for the use of Transportory Stones. It was predictable that players would abuse the system once it was announced. So, I believe Funcom introduced this feature quite freely to see how players would behave and then implement the necessary restrictions based on that. Despite that, the Transportory Stone has been an excellent addition to the game in this new format it is becoming.
This one set up a small, public, network on a PvE Siptah server this one plays on.
Total of 7.
Need to install a couple more wells next to a couple of them. Dancers near most.
None are walled.
On another server, there is someone with about a dozen that are built as traps. A Sorceror can easily get to them with the bridge or bat. Double jump is hit or miss. They basically have concentric rings of anti-climb looped around the spots.
A cheeky way to get some kills on a PvE server.
This is never an issue. Just look at where you are before you go through it. If you got to a closed one, you can get back the way you came. I’ve done this many times. It’s only a trap if something can kill you on the other side… which I’ve never seen.
As I mentioned previously, this is pretty dumb on the individual’s part that is trying to get out. If you can’t get out, go back the way you came. Never drop into a spot to go through one if you can’t get back out either. Always backtrack when you can. I’ve never been trapped by a transportory stone.
I’m assuming the idea is that you can’t see outside the cloud and hit the spikes coming out? Sounds toxic. Yeah, I’ve never seen that done on servers. I know EU servers are a bit toxic as well, but the one I was on didn’t do that either.
My clan has 16 active transporter stones on an official server. We did have 17 but decided that was too many and removed 1. There is a trick on where we placed some and how you travel because the stones run together with that many.
